Big News - Talked to the DOGE team. They are going to plug in to help upgrade our aviation system.
Madam Secretary, with all due respect, “experienced” Washington bureaucrats are the reason our nation’s infrastructure is crumbling. You need to sit this one out.

I know you’re lashing out because DOGE is uncovering your family’s obscene grifting via USAID, but I won’t let you lie and distort facts. The FAA administrator announced he resigned over a month before Trump took office, and the air traffic controllers were always exempt from Trump’s civil service buyouts.

The previous administration shamelessly used USDOT as a slush fund for the Green New Scam, throwing away money and resources on wasteful environmental and social justice projects rather than updating our nation’s antiquated air traffic control systems and other critical infrastructure.

I’m returning this department to its mission of safety by using innovative technology in transportation and infrastructure. Your team had its chance and failed. We’re moving on without you because the American people want us to make America’s transportation system great again. And yes, we’re bringing the 22-year-olds with us.

Say a prayer tonight for the 10 souls who lost their lives on the Bering Air flight in Alaska.

I spoke to @SenDanSullivan and @lisamurkowski to offer @USDOT’s full support.

The @FAANews is providing an investigator from the Aviation Safety Office of Accident and Prevention, as well as local support from FAA’s aviation safety inspectors.

@NTSB has the full support of @USDOT and FAA as they conduct the investigation.

In line with my commitment to restoring sanity to @USDOT, the FAA will resume using the term “Notice to Airmen” instead of “Notice to Air Missions.”

Also, pilot charts will now reference the Gulf of America and Mt. McKinley. Thanks to President Trump, we are taking back our language, our history, and our country. 🇺🇸

I've requested that the Boeing CEO come to D.C. as soon as possible to provide a full accounting of the steps the company is taking to address its quality and safety issues. Following that, I will visit Boeing myself to evaluate firsthand the measures being implemented to ensure its planes meet the highest safety standards.

My statement on the Anniversary of Colgan Air Flight 3407:

“Today, we reflect on the heartbreaking tragedy of Colgan Air Flight 3407. We solemnly remember the lives lost in this tragedy and express our heartfelt condolences to the families who live with this loss every day. This crash is a daily reminder of why our department puts safety first. On the heels of the incident at Reagan, we are redoubling our efforts to make our airspace even safer.”

In less than a month, @POTUS is delivering real results at the @USDOT.

From cutting burdensome regulations to restoring consumer choice, America’s transportation system is back on the road! 🇺🇸

It’s time to cut the cord and save the American taxpayer serious money. We don’t need a redundant landline.

I am canceling them and saving millions. Enough of these wasteful contracts!

The Panama Canal took 10 years to build.

Golden Gate Bridge: 4 years.
Hoover Dam: 5 years.
China builds high-speed rail in 2-3 years.

In @GavinNewsom’s California? Almost $16 BILLION in 16 YEARS. Not ONE track laid—just a couple of bridges to nowhere.

California protesters are mad that I’m calling for an investigation. Here’s my response:

Mr. President, 5 things I did last week:

1. Terminated NYC elitist, anti-worker congestion pricing.
2. Launched an investigation into the $16 billion in taxpayer dollars wasted on a high-speed rail project that, after 17 years, has yet to lay a single mile of track.
3. Saved $10 million a year by eliminating redundant and outdated landlines.
4. Visited the Air Traffic Control Command Center in Virginia to see the critical tech upgrades we need to make our air traffic system the envy of the world.
5. Toured Burbank, California traffic control tower and heard from air traffic controllers about how to improve conditions and retain and recruit more controllers.

Looking forward to another week of fighting for Americans @USDOT!

The @NTSB and @FAANews are investigating the Chicago Midway International Airport incident. I will provide more updates once I have them.

However, it is imperative that pilots follow the instructions of air traffic controllers. If they do not, their licenses will be pulled.

The U.S. government takes eight, ten, or even fifteen years to upgrade its systems, and that’s the enemy of progress.

We will collaborate with the best and brightest to bring our transportation systems and technology to the 21st century – and we will do it quickly!
