Women attending a vigil for Sarah Everard whose body the other day gather around the bandstand in Clapham Common. They talk of the police, that the suspected murderer is a cop , and the failings of this system which is rife with patriarchy and violence.

As the sun goes down, the police force their way through the crowd and begin snatching the speakers and the women who refuse to move from the band stand.

There is absolutely no reason for the police to take the bandstand other than to illustrate their force and power.

The women gathered refuse to be dispersed.

The isn't about covid regulations.

It's about women not doing what they are told.

It's about a display of force from an organisation which has hundreds of domestic violence incidents within it each year.

It's about Sarah Everard and #SheWasJustWalkingHome

The police abuse the powers they already have - and yet the government plans to give them even more powers in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. This is dangerous. This will lead to even more state violence against women. This bill MUST be stopped. Join us Today.
