The GOP has completely wasted the political capital they were gifted on a silver platter from the Charlie Kirk Assassination, they blinked and kept blinking, we all saw it, and the left definitely saw it. Their political violence will continue and get substantially worse. In Weimar anarchist train station bombings were so common they didn't always make the front page of the papers, even if there were casualties. Expect something like that to start happening around this nation with frequency. Likely some echos of what happened at that ICE facility, but targeting other agencies and targets of opportunity.
I would have thought at the very least that Charlie being close friends with many in the administration would make them actually do something, Lord knows if my good friend was assassinated in public in front of his wife and kids I'd do something reckless and aggressive at the bare minimum. And I'm just some asshole with no power whatsoever. But I guess that doesn't work when you actually have the power to basically do whatever you want and the political mandate to do it. Oh well, at least they can't blame the guns anymore.

You can literally be close friends with the president, essentially a son to the man if reports are to be believed. You can have multigenerational ties to the president, meet your wife and mother of your kids through him, be friends with all his cabinet members, be instrumental in his reelection and when the rubber hits the road and you're assassinated in broad daylight, him and the GOP will still find some way to kick the can down the road and do nothing, it's almost unbelievable, and I do mean that literally, it is beyond belief they would do this little for someone who did as much for them as Kirk did.
