I cannot fully articulate just how bad of an idea a 50 year mortgage on a house would be lmfao, this isn't even putting a band-aid over a stab would its extending the stab wound.

You know what would really fix housing? Deporting every single illegal and then cancelling the roughly 50 million worker visas we have in the country, that would free up tons of housing. Now I get the former would take time but the latter is a pen stroke, but no you don't get that, you get a mortgage that will last longer than this country at this point and one that will absolutely fuck you the next time the housing market crashes

This 50 year mortgage thing feels like panic, the Trump administration saw Madami win New York, and I assume someone told him about the nightmarish unpopularity his admin has with the young right wingers on X and he quickly (and unsuccessfully) threw something together to try to appease them to address the thing he was voted in to address.

At this point, unless he unveils some big long reaching plan to address the affordability crisis in this country the GOP is going to get absolutely slaughtered in the midterms, the right won't just stay home they'll actively vote Democrat.

Trump has 3 years to provide an alternate to international socialism and national socialism, I do not think he will provide that alternative
