🔷 There are multiple opening positions for prospective Ph.D. Students in Dr. Paynabar’s research group in the H. Milton Stewart of School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech for Fall 2021. The group’s research is focused on methodological advancement in the interface of Statistics, Machine Learning, and Optimization for predictive modeling, anomaly detection, causal inference, and process optimization and control. The application areas range from manufacturing, energy, and cyber-physical systems, to healthcare and medical decisions-making.

🔷 Qualified applicants must hold (or expect to graduate by Fall 2021) an undergraduate or master’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or Computer Science. Desired skills include strong Mathematics and Statistics background, proficiency in programming and statistical computing (with R, Matlab, or Python), and research experience. Successful applicants would choose a program from the IE, OR, Statistics or Machine Learning PhD programs within the School of ISyE.
