I'll write a short article about my experience in flashing ROMs for my Mi4 tomorrow. However,I need to update Windows Insider and have a good dream now. See you guys tomorrow.
So sorry that this message has been delayed for such a long time.
First is MIUI.
MIUI is the stock ROM provided by Xiaomi Official. The latest version of MIUI on Mi 4 is 8.4.26(China) and 8.3.1(Global) and both of them are running Android M.
My experience: MIUI is a very good ROM for Chinese Users in China because it has a lot of features that AOSP doesn't provide. It's suitable for someone who doesn't want to meet big bugs. Of course, you can tell me that the Ingress account would be banned if you play Ingress while using MIUI.
Second is LineageOS
LOS official provides Android N for cancro devices(Mi3W/Mi4).
My experience: Like many other AOSP-based ROMs, LineageOS provides me with a good AOSP-like experience. However, it is too ordinary that there aren't many special features. It's also suitable for someone who doesn't want to meet big bugs, too. LineagOS has a smooth OTA update.
Third is H2OS.
HydrogenOS is the stock ROM for OnePlus devices provided by OnePlus. This H2OS on Mi 4 is an unofficial ROM.
My experience: The early H2OS is really too simple. Of course, today is not 2015. However, no one will work on this kind of project.
If you want to have a try, just try it. But if your Mi 4 is your major device, think it twice.
BTW, the OnePlus Account is not usable on this ROM.
Fourth is FIUI.
DO NOT USE IT! YOU MAY BE MAD CAUSE OF THIS!
With a series of Chinese Apps which made me really MAD
But it seems that the older version is much more like a pure system.
I will flash the older version tonight to get more information.
Fifth is Flyme.
I haven't use this ROM for a long time so I can't make a conclusion about this.
However, Android N supported.
In the end, I use MIUI again because my father need to use Mi 4.🤣
