The European Union announced 20 packages of sanctions against Russia:

✔️"In the energy sector, we are imposing a complete ban on the provision of maritime services for the transportation of Russian crude oil. Since shipping is a global industry, we propose to introduce this ban in coordination with like-minded partners after a corresponding decision by the G7. Another 43 vessels of the so-called 'shadow fleet' have been added to the sanctions list, bringing their total number to 640.

✔️The second block of measures is aimed at further restricting Russia's banking system and its ability to create alternative payment channels for financing economic activities.

✔️The third block of measures envisages tightening export restrictions against Russia with the introduction of new bans on the supply of goods and services - from rubber to tractors and cybersecurity services - worth more than 360 million euros.

✔️We are also introducing new bans on the import of metals, chemical products and critical minerals, which were not previously subject to sanctions, worth over 570 million euros. Additionally, export restrictions on goods and technologies used for military operations, including materials for the production of explosives, are being expanded."

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is investigating allegations of "penis injections" by Olympic ski jumpers to increase their jumping distance, according to The Guardian.

Earlier, the Bild newspaper reported that there are rumors in this community about a new type of cheating: injections of hyaluronic acid into the penis to enlarge it. This way, the suits are enlarged, which in turn contributes to the flight distance.

Last year, two Norwegian Olympic medalists were suspended from competition for three months after it was discovered that the team secretly modified the seams of their suits in the crotch area at the 2025 World Ski Championships. The jumpers' suits were enlarged, which consequently reduced their descent speed due to the increased wing span.

It was found that every 2 cm in the circumference of the suit reduces air resistance, increases lift and increases the jump length by 5.8 meters.

The State Department intends to fund analytical centers and charitable organizations across Europe associated with Trump's MAGA movement to spread his political positions, reports the Financial Times, citing sources.

According to their data, a senior State Department official, Sarah Rogers, traveled to Europe in December to meet with influential right-wing analytical centers and held talks with key figures of Nigel Farage's party "Reform UK" about allocating funds to spread MAGA values.

The focus will be on initiatives in London, Paris, Berlin, and Brussels.

The US National Security Strategy, published last year, called for "developing resistance" to the current course of European development. The document stated that mass migration and "censorship of freedom of speech" could lead to the "destruction of civilization".

"The US administration is waging a crusade to save Europe," said one of the senior representatives of Reform UK, who spoke with Rogers. "They have genuine sympathy for the UK, but believe that it is threatened by dark forces spreading across Europe."

FYI We should see another missile/drone attack on Ukraine tonight. Already we see drones in Ukrainian airspace and a few missiles being fire at Ukraine. So we are currently in the warm-up phase.

The biggest difference from the past is Russia uses far more ballistic missiles as its evident Ukraine struggles to stop such missiles. It is only -7C in Kiev but it will dip down to -19 by Monday, by Thursday it will return above freezing.

On February 5th at 21:59 Moscow time, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region, a combat unit of the Aerospace Forces' Space Troops successfully launched a medium-class carrier rocket "Soyuz-2.1b" with spacecrafts for the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

However, according to Roskosmos and the Russian military, the liftoff took place at 21:59 Moscow Time. The Soyuz-2.1b rocket carried multiple spacecraft for the Ministry of Defense.

Before the end of the day on Feb. 5, 2026, the US Space Force catalogued a single object associated with the launch in an expected 487 by 512-kilometer orbit with an inclination of 96.6 degrees toward the Equator. However, it was designated 2026-023E, indicating that Objects A, B, C and D were expected to be listed next.

Shortly thereafter, the US Space Force issued orbital elements for nine objects associated with the Feb. 6, 2026, Soyuz launch.

The Fregat released one (main) payload (Object 2026-023A). The space tug then maneuvered to a near 500-kilometer orbit, where it released the rest of its passengers (Objects B, C, D, E, F, G, H and J).

According to space observer Robert Christy, the Fregat released secondary payloads in two batches: first four objects from B to E were released, then, the space tug conducted a single maneuver, shifting the Right Ascension of the of the Ascending Node, RAAN (the Equator crossing points from the Southern to the Northern hemisphere) around 2.5 degrees eastward, after which the second quartet of objects from F to J separated from the space tug.

So far no one fully understands the purpose of these satellites.

▪️The US negotiating team, consisting of special envoy Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Kushner, at meetings with representatives of Kiev in Miami and Abu Dhabi reported that it would be better to hold a referendum on the peace plan as soon as possible, the agency writes.

▪️Trump will soon be focused on domestic political issues due to the upcoming midterm elections in Congress, which will leave US high-ranking officials with less time and political capital to conclude a peace agreement.

Don't be surprised if Ukraine once again gambles that a Democrat surge will lead to a friendlier government after the midterms. Statistically midterms are not great for the incumbent presidents party and Trump is not currently riding a hot streak. Foreign policy however does not really move the needle for voters in the US
