A few suggestions:

Many construction sites are going to be shut down. Head to a construction site and you'll find plenty of scrap wood that is waiting to be thrown away that can be used for such purposes garden boxes, crude shelving, etc. Better than paying or risking infection at the lumber yard.

Second suggestion: an easy way to fortify a building quickly is with sandbags. It isn't necessary to fill them and have them stacked right now, but a good supply of empty bags is a damn good idea. You can stack them behind interior walls to stop most rounds from penetrating.

Now is a good time to think about how to secure an existence in worst case scenarios.
