The United States population is 1/24th of the world population (328 million of 7.6 billion). In 2019, our death rate was near 2.6 million. That is 7200 each day, 300 each hour, and 5 each minute. About one of those five per minute is attributed to medical error. As of last week, an extra one per minute is attributed to coronavirus. That may fractionally be from hastening those of advanced age, it's undoubtedly still an increase.
Coronavirus deaths in the US lag the new cases by an average of two to three weeks, we were seeing around 80,000 new cases per day then, now it's more than double that. We've surpassed the death per minute mark and in two weeks, we'll see two deaths per minute from COVID in the US.
