COPS KILL THE MENTALLY ILL
CRISIS IS NOT A CRIME
"Don't call the cops.
1. Get consent to help, do not force assistance.
2.Never leave a person in crisis without support or at least a witness from a distance if the cops show up.
3. Stay calm and speak low and slow.
4. Remember that the person is likely scared - not trying to cause a scene.
5. Ask if they have a safe person you can help connect them with.
6. A less stimulating or private space may help them feel safe - a key component in de-escalation.
7. Attend to their basic needs - food, water, and safety. A cigarette can often temporarily help quiet "brain noise."
8. Do not feed into delusional thinking or paranoia, but also don't try to argue or correct them. Crisis affects the way our brain receives info, this isn't the time for nuance or logic.
9. Locate the nearest walk-in crisis center and encourage them to seek help - go there with them if you can.
10. Physical movement can calm the nervous system. See inside for more details.
11. Once the crisis has passed, self care for both the person in crisis and the support person are important. There is no shame in crisis, you deserve rest.
12. Lastly, leave religion out of it. No matter how innocuous your statement may seem, religion can be extremely triggering. Both to those with traumatic histories and those with religious obsessions. Try to keep your responses to any religious, spiritual, conspiratorial talk neutral and to a minimum."

I’m gonna get on my high horse and say a few things.
One. “I told you so”.
Two. You don’t have to vote for the democrats, ever again, for any reason.
Not voting and letting them drown is a valid choice.
Voting third party, for example. For the Green Party, who ran on a combined socialist platform on a unity ticket with SPUSA last year, is an option. You can write in vermin supreme if you want. I really don’t care.
Third, and ultimately: Voting for the democrats after this is the one thing I would find shameful. All of the people who so boldly claimed Biden is reducing harm: how?
When Amazon let workers die on the line just last week, did Biden censure them and launch a DOJ investigation? (A. No.)
When Kellogg’s fired all of their striking employees, did Biden join the picket line? Did he donate or support strikers? (A. He wrote a letter asking both sides to stop.)
When families were being illegally placed in concentration camps and mothers, fathers, and children separated into different cages, did Biden stop this? (A. He did not. To this day, children and parents go missing at the border and we are expected to have forgotten.)
When unemployed workers needed money, housing, and debt relief, did he or his party provide it? (A. They provided several trillion in funding for more roads and .7 trillion for Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Halliburton)
This is not harm reduction. The democrats are not harm reduction.
If I have to hear one more person claim this going forward I will lose it. Stop being whipped. You are falling in love with your masters and acting shocked when they hit you. Not even federal agents could act as docile and invested in our voting system as you do.
