It's freezing in Texas and people are reasonably worried they'll have to spend another week in freezing temperatures without electricity, gas, or services. Ted Cruz is bragging about going to the tropics again.

I'm sorry but this is just a shitty take.
It's not like neurotypical people are not traumatized by the Holocaust. If anything, I hope you get traumatized when you learn about the Holocaust. I hope you get scared, I hope you cry and I hope you'll have learned that this cannot happen again. Only a sociopath or a Nazi wouldn't feel like this learning about it.
You are meant to be scared by some shit. That's the truth. You cannot (and should not) sugarcoat genocide.

So, when I was in highschool, I was the VP of our GSA and I did not get along particularly well with our president. The thing I remember her saying most vividly was "we should not be teaching genocide because it's a triggering topic." I was so stunned by this statement, and I just never brought it up, but I think about it quite a bit.

The idea that "we should not teach something because it's triggering" is RIDICLOUS, but NOT because "those silly snowflakes need their safe spaces."
I think its reasonable to have people step back and take a breather when they are learning about things like genocide. I think it is perfectly reasonable to *prepare* people. And I think it's perfectly reasonable to have emotional support when learning about it.

But it HAS to be taught, and it can NOT be sugarcoated. You HAVE to learn about it in its rawest, truest form. It HAS to be upsetting. It is a triggering topic, but that cannot be an excuse not to learn about history. You have to let yourself feel and work through that anxiety, grief, and sadness. It's not something you can just *avoid.*

Posted without comment. I thought anti civ was a meme so it's news to me that he has both a recent book on organizing and acolytes in regular correspondence. I thought he mostly published math.

Okay so essentially what is happening here is he's got this book where it doesn't directly advocate violence, but rather encourages the reader to study other revolutions and organize with some specific goal to be realized via direct action. In some sections he postulates that whatever it is the goal achieves, it should be irreversible. He then goes on to talk about tactics, and suggested a small number of organized infiltrators to organizations mostly aligned with his ideals could work their way to leadership positions and exercise great power.

He's very light on specifics most of the time, but for infiltration he gives an example: the editorial board of Earth First!

Elsewhere in the book he mentions Earth First! as such a direct action organization with a clear purpose, and he details an individual getting involved that had previously championed feminism and other "social justice" concerns as an event that blurred these goals and brought in leftists whose interests only superficially aligned with the original purpose.

So essentially he was saying 'Do you have groups of people that will further my goals in an irreversible way? Are you infiltrating other orgs to expel the SJWs? Do you need targets?'

Earth First! is a group of people close to my heart. Stumbling on a reunion of OG Earth First!ers was one of the most transformative events in my own political development. If there's a planned infiltration that's been in progress since that books publication, I need to chat with some people about it.
