Military Mandate Deadline: Race against time for Marines to stay in force
Monday's deadline is looming for all armed forces to be fully vaccinated, with the elite Marines lagging behind. Around 10,000 still haven't been vaccinated and risk being kicked out.
“If Marines now are choosing to disobey a lawful order over the vaccine, what might be the next thing in the future where we see this type of disobedience?” said former Marine Corps officer David Lapan.
Of all the US armed forces, the Marines has the lowest uptake of vaccinations. 91% of active servicemen - and only 66% of reservists.
Is it really a case of just following orders?
