The US has gathered a huge military force in the Middle East, the Financial Times reports.

🟠The 'armada' includes:

👉16 combat ships and two support vessels

👉40,000 troops

👉Seven air wings with some 70 aircraft each

🟠Their locations:

👉Five air wings are already stationed in Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE

👉Two additional air wings are on the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald Ford aircraft carriers

👉66 fighter jets – including F-35s, F-15s, A-10s and EA-18 electronic warfare planes – based at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan

🟧The US military presence is meant to intimidate Iran into abandoning its peaceful nuclear energy program and dismantling its ballistic missile arsenal.

🟧US President Donald Trump threatened Tehran with a "massive armada" if it does not agree to a "fair and equitable" nuclear deal.

🟧Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says a diplomatic solution is preferable, but has made it clear that Iran will uphold its right to enrich uranium – even at the risk of war.

"They sent a message that at 14:00 hours, the shootings would begin. The city is empty," a witness told Sputnik.
