🟧President Claudia Sheinbaum denies that US armed forces actively participated in the capture and subsequent death of drug trafficker Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as El Mencho, who was killed on February 22 by Mexican federal forces.

"There is no participation of US forces in the operation. There is a great deal of information sharing. The understanding with the US is based fundamentally on the exchange of intelligence and information. In this case, there was information provided by the US government," the president stated.

🟧Furthermore, she confirmed that the entire security operation against the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) was carried out from planning to execution by the Government of Mexico.

Mencho was one of the most wanted criminals by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

🟠The operation against kingpin Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, resulted in the deaths of 30 organized crime members due to clashes between federal forces and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), reported Security and Citizen Protection Secretary Omar García Harfuch.

🟠The National Defense Secretariat confirmed the death of the CJNG founder, which occurred while the criminal leader was being transferred to Mexico City following the clashes.

Mexico's Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, stated that the elimination of kingpin Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes generates international confidence in the actions the Latin American country is undertaking to combat organized crime.

🗣"This demonstrates the strength of the Mexican Army and the Mexican state. It shows that in our country, the law is being enforced and it opens up very favorable prospects for Mexico in terms of security, economic matters, and trade," the senior official said.

💬According to Ebrard, "there is great respect" in the international community towards Mexico for the operation in which El Mencho, who was one of the criminal bosses most wanted by the DEA, was neutralized.
