🏌️ Tiger Woods wraps up first Masters appearance since 2020
Tiger Woods decided to tee it up at the 2022 Masters in an attempt to win his 16th major championship, sixth green jacket and 83rd PGA Tour event - just 14 months after nearly losing his right leg in a car accident.
The 6-over scores were each, individually, the worst rounds of his career at Augusta, and the combined 156 on the weekend was easily his highest such score over any of his two rounds at the Masters.
No one, perhaps not even Woods himself, would have predicted him finishing 72 holes at the 2022 Masters. He competed with all his might again on Sunday, making the finish line in a display of overcoming tremendous adversity.

🚫 Maryland lawmakers override gov’s veto of abortion expansion
Republican Gov. Larry Hogan’s veto of a measure to expand access to abortion in Maryland was overridden on Saturday by the General Assembly, which is controlled by Democrats.
The state will end a restriction that only physicians can provide abortions. The new law will enable nurse practitioners, nurse midwives and physician assistants to provide them with training. It creates an abortion care training program and requires $3.5 million in state funding annually. It also requires most insurance plans to cover abortions without cost.
The measure takes effect July 1. The insurance provisions apply to all policies, contracts, and health benefit plans issued, delivered, or renewed in the state on or after Jan. 1.

🗣 Florida groups canvass spring breakers to warn of fentanyl
The group blitzed beaches, warned spring breakers of a surge in recreational drugs cut with the dangerous synthetic opioid and offered an antidote for overdoses, which have risen nationally during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Street teams handed out samples of naloxone, a drug known by the trade name Narcan, which can help revive overdose victims.
In 2021, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported for the first time that more than 100,000 Americans had died of drug overdoses over a 12-month period. About two-thirds of the deaths were linked to fentanyl and other synthetic drugs.

📦 Amazon says union and NLRB “suppressed and influenced” Staten Island election
Amazon has officially filed its objections to the Amazon Labor Union’s win in Staten Island, New York, and is asking the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to order a new election.
The objections expand upon a document the company recently submitted that signaled its intent to fight the election results — the company now says that ALU members “intimidated employees,” “recorded voters in the polling place,” and “distributed marijuana to employees in exchange for their support.”
In 2021, after workers at Amazon’s Bessemer facility voted against unionization nearly two to one, the NLRB ruled that the company had broken labor law during the election.
