'They are worse than the Nazis!' Distraught residents of Mariupol recall the horrors of life under the Azov battalion

One of the witnesses, Viktoria, says Azov Neo-Nazis forced them to stay in basements and wouldn't let them go out to throw away garbage. They once threatened to gun down her two-year-old child when she went to go out for diapers.

"If I'm ordered to, I will shoot my child," one of the Azov militants warned petrified Viktoria.

Forwarded from Donald J. Trump
If I did what Piers Morgan did in his fake interview with me, rigging and redoing my words, and then making it sound like I walked out of an interview, the failed gubernatorial candidate and Radical Left Racist, Attorney General of New York State, Letitia James, would start an immediate investigation and demand the re-institution of the death penalty, or whatever may be worse than that. Piers got caught red-handed, and the interview that I rather enjoyed doing is now in shambles. I especially enjoyed talking about the 2020 Presidential Election Fraud and his big mistake on the way he walked off his show when the "weatherman" made him look like a fool. I never walked out of my interviews with him, he's easy, but he tried to make it look like I did. Unlike others, I don't believe Piers is a complete slimeball, but he lost a lot of credibility. Interestingly, many of the Fake News Media outlets are covering his mistake. They view it as potentially fraudulent, and so do I. Piers is off to a bad start, but thanks to me, he may get a final burst of big ratings before it all comes crashing down!

A full audio recording appears to show that former US President Donald Trump’s interview with Piers Morgan did not end with Trump storming off the set, as an edited promo teaser suggests. Instead, the recording reveals that the British television personality thanked Trump for the 'great interview' and the two men laughed and chatted as the interview wrapped up.

⚡️ Gov. Whitmer wants federal aid to keep nuclear plant open

Michigan’s Democratic governor wants a nuclear power plant on Lake Michigan to stay open and she’s asking the federal government to pay for it. But the owner of the Palisades Power Plant says it’s too late, the plant will be shut down in May as scheduled.

The Biden administration launched a $6 billion effort to rescue nuclear power plants at risk of closing, citing the need to continue nuclear energy as a carbon-free source of power that helps to combat climate change. The Department of Energy’s civil nuclear credit program is intended to bail out financially distressed operators of nuclear power reactors.

A dozen US commercial nuclear power reactors have closed in the past decade before their licenses expired, largely due to competition from cheaper natural gas, massive operating losses due to low electricity prices and escalating costs, or the cost of major repairs.

🌱 Cannabis sales in New Jersey bring excited buyers

The start of the recreational market comes a week after Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy announced that state regulators had cleared the way for recreational sales at seven “alternative treatment centers” that had already offered medical cannabis. The seven centers operate 13 facilities across the state.

Murphy, who has long backed recreational marijuana legalization and signed the bill the set up the marketplace, appeared at ZenLeaf in Elizabeth for its first day of recreational sales. Murphy said he would be pushing for a “federal fix” for marijuana as well, though it was unclear whether he was referring to recreational legalization, national decriminalization or something else.

New Jersey is among 18 states, plus the District of Columbia, with legalized recreational marijuana markets. Thirty-seven states, including New Jersey, have legalized medical marijuana.

⚖️ Justice Dept. to appeal order voiding travel mask mandate

The Justice Department is filing an appeal seeking to overturn a judge’s order that voided the federal mask mandate on planes and trains and in travel hubs. It remained unclear whether the Biden administration would ask the appeals court to grant an emergency stay to immediately reimpose the mask mandate on public transit. An emergency stay of the lower court’s ruling would be a whiplash moment for travelers and transit workers.

Most airlines and airports, many public transit systems and even ride-sharing company Uber lifted their mask-wearing requirements in the hours following Monday’s ruling. The CDC said it will continue to monitor public health conditions to determine if a mandate would remain necessary.

💊 Biden drug control plan stresses harm reduction, treatment

President Joe Biden is sending his administration’s first national drug control strategy to Congress as the US overdose death toll hit a new record of nearly 107,000 during the past 12 months. The American Medical Association has advocated for naloxone to be made available over the counter. The first physician to head the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Dr. Rahul Gupta, will oversee the strategy, which also includes:

🔹 Targeting the financial activities of transnational criminal organizations that manufacture and traffic illicit drugs in the United States.
🔹 Reducing the supply of illicit drugs smuggled across US borders.
🔹 Improving data systems and research that guide drug policy.
🔹 Making sure the people most in danger of overdose can get evidence-based treatments, including people experiencing homelessness and those in prison or jail.

🇨🇺 More Cubans immigrating to the US by crossing from Mexico

US border authorities encountered Cubans almost 32,400 times in March, that was roughly double the number in February, and five times the number in October. US Customs and Border Protection stopped Cubans more than 79,800 times from October through March, more than double all of 2021, and five times more than all of 2020.

The increase coincided with Nicaragua’s decision starting in November to stop requiring visas for Cubans to promote tourism after other countries, such as Panama and the Dominican Republic.

Jorge Duany, director of the Cuban Research Institute at Florida International University, and other experts estimate the number of Cubans leaving could exceed other mass migrations from the island, including the Mariel boatlift of 1980, when more than 124,700 Cubans came to the U.S.
