🔥 One dead and at least three hurt in Nebraska wildfires
Blazes have been reported in 12 counties in around the state since Friday. The state agency said they were still burning Saturday night in five counties in Nebraska’s southwest: Perkins, Hayes, Furnas, Red Willow and Frontier counties.
The person who died was in Red Willow County in the southwest corner of the state, Nebraska Emergency Management Agency spokeswoman Jodie Fawl said. She said she didn’t have details about that person or where the firefighters were injured.
The Nebraska National Guard deployed three helicopters and several support trucks to help battle the blazes.

Dawson Springs, a nonprofit based in Virginia, uses donated equipment and volunteer workers to rebuild houses after disasters ranging from hurricanes to forest fires.
About $64 million in federal assistance has been approved for storm victims in Kentucky, with some aid targeting temporary housing, the Federal Emergency Management Agency said.

The change of pace comes after the billionaire Tesla CEO confirmed $46.5 billion in financing, proving in a regulatory filing earlier this week that he's locked in funding agreements from banks and other entities. It also comes after Musk met with shareholders in a private meeting on Friday to continue to make his pitch for the bid and urge the importance of the board making a decision.
To prevent a takeover, Twitter filed for a shareholder rights plan — also called a "poison pill," which in effect dilutes a buyer's stake by flooding the market with discounted shares.
