Russian MoD statement on solution to humanitarian crisis in Ukraine:

▪As of 25 April, at 20:00 (Moscow time, 5:00 PM GMT), no one has used the proposed humanitarian corridor for evacuation from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol. The Kiev authorities have again cynically disrupted the humanitarian operation. Such illogical and inconsistent behaviour confirms Kiev's indifference to the citizens of its own country;

▪Ukrainian neo-Nazis continue to hold hostage 90 foreign citizens from 5 countries as a "human shield";

📲The board of directors of Twitter said Monday afternoon that it had accepted a $44 billion offer by Tesla CEO Elon Musk to buy the company.

Musk, who has said he wants to buy Twitter in order to restore the platform’s adherence to free speech principles, will pay $54.20 per share for the company, which he has vowed to take private.

“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spambots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”

Musk’s acquisition of Twitter has unnerved many of the site’s more liberal users while it has energized pro-Republican voices who want the platform to reinstate former President Donald Trump. Trump was banned by Twitter and other large social media companies for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 rioting at the US Capitol.

🔻Authorities said that a North Carolina mom and her boyfriend were arrested Saturday after the woman’s two young children were found unresponsive.

The Rocky Mount Police Department responded to a service call about two unconscious children at 9:20 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Drew Street, police said in a press release. Zharia Noel and Ahmene Butler, both 21, have each been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter with two counts of felony child abuse, police said.

After the two babies were found, paramedics immediately transferred them to UNC Nash Healthcare, where they were both pronounced deceased. Police are withholding details about the circumstances of the children's death, and a spokesman said he was not available for comment Sunday evening.
