Apple has been coaching retail store managers on how to try and talk employees out of unionizing. A report has revealed the company sent around a document full of talking points, such as: “an outside union that doesn’t know Apple” or its culture, or “most union contracts give preference based on seniority.” The document also encourages store leaders to “touch base” with employees about potential union activity.
This comes at a time when there are union drives at several Apple retail stores — two have officially petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to hold union elections, and another is looking to do so. It’s been clear Apple would try to fight these efforts as the firm hired anti-union lawyers, and at least one worker says that the company held a captive audience meeting to spread anti-union talking points.

A federal grand jury has charged a milling company with fraud and conspiracy in connection with an explosion at a Wisconsin corn plant that killed five workers in 2017, the Justice Department announced Friday. The indictment alleges that between March 2013 and February 2018, the company failed to keep up with cleanings at the Cambria plant as required by federal regulations and falsified records to make it look as if the cleanings were completed.
Federal inspectors have said an accumulation of grain dust likely caused the explosion. Corn dust is combustible; if concentrations in the air reach a high level a spark or other ignition source can cause it to catch fire and explode. The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined Didion more than $1.8 million in connection with the explosion in the months following the explosion.

🚨 Gunshots Ring Out in Wisconsin's Deer District After Bucks-Celtics Game 6
Attendees leaving the Milwaukee Bucks’ Deer District in Wisconsin were forced into fleeing sprint late Friday after gunshots were heard in the vicinity. Video footage shared on social media captured what appeared to be several dozen individuals running into the nearby streets.
Local media outlets on the ground have reported that two individuals had been shot and one other has been taken into custody. Law enforcement personnel have since taped off the area.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Early reports suggest the shooting stemmed from a brawl after the nail-biting basketball game came to a conclusion.

⛈ Three Dead in South Dakota, Minnesota After Severe Storms
Strong winds and a tornado caused widespread damage in parts of the Midwest, where officials said another round of severe weather during a stormy week left three more people dead.
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem issued an emergency declaration and ordered state personnel and resources to affected communities. Noem said damage reports were received from 28 counties. The Department of Public Safety’s Office of Emergency Management has opened an Emergency Operations Center to coordinate the response with local government authorities.
Uprooted trees, branches and debris were scattered around Castlewood. Power lines were down, including across highways leading to town.

🔥 Florida Attorney General (AG) Ashley Moody has accused President Joe Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of intentionally pursuing border policies that enrich transnational smuggling cartels while endangering the US.
▪️ Speaking to Fox News, she claimed that her office had obtained documents through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) allegedly indicating that Mayorkas did not tell the truth when testifying to Congress in late April that the Department of Home Security (DHS) had “effectively managed” the flow of migrants at the US-Mexico border.
