🗣 “Here’s the situation. And when it comes to gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” he said during a joint press conference with Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday.

📹 Russian Tupolev Tu-95MS (NATO reporting name: Bear) and Chinese Xian H-6 strategic bombers have successfully completed the 13-hour-long patrol during which the aircraft crossed over parts of the Sea of Japan (also known as East Sea) and the East China Sea. The Russian and Chinese bombers were covered along their path by Russia Air Force 4+ generation fighter jets Sukhoi Su-30SM (NATO reporting name: Flanker-H).

According to FBI documents discovered by Forbes, the agency has arrested an alleged Daesh member claiming he wanted to smuggle several associates from Iraq into the US through the Mexico border to kill the 43rd president.

US authorities reportedly tracked him via WhatsApp, and discovered that he was based in Columbus, Ohio. The alleged plot organizer is an Iraqi national who had been in the US since 2020 and had an asylum application pending. The FBI said the reported operative also had plans to smuggle people who could help carry out the assassination into the country, Forbes said.

The Iraqi man supposedly planned the assassination because he blames the former president for killing Iraqis and “breaking apart the country after the 2003 US military invasion,” Forbes reports.

Top administrative leaders for the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America, said Tuesday that they will release a secret list of hundreds of pastors and other church-affiliated personnel accused of sexual abuse.

Top leaders and several committee members vowed to work toward changing the culture of the denomination and to listen more attentively to survivors’ voices and stories.

Willie McLaurin, the Executive Committee’s interim president and CEO, issued a formal public apology to all those who suffered sexual abuse within the SBC, which has a membership of over 47,000 churches.
