🚫A gun was found in a 7-year-old student's backpack at an elementary school in Columbia, South Carolina, the Richland County Sheriff's Department reported.

Officials say a child at Sandlapper Elementary School notified an administrator that they believed a student had a gun.

Richland County officials have taken over the investigation and are looking into how the student obtained the weapon and if the student brought it to school intentionally.

He also slammed President Joe Biden for blaming the incident on the gun industry, calling such rhetoric divisive, dangerous, with no place in US politics.

"If the United States has $40 billion to send to Ukraine we should be able to do whatever it takes to keep our children safe at home," Trump said on Friday.

The United States spent trillions of dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan for nothing in return, Trump said. The United States should invest in boosting security at US schools before it considers nation building around the world, he added.

📈Stocks finished abruptly higher again on Friday, riding a tech rebound to Wall Street's first winning week in nearly two months. The gains added to a rebound staged over the past several days.

The S&P 500 rose 2.5% and finished 6.6% higher for the week, its best weekly gain since November 2020. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.8%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 3.3%.

The strong finish for the week came as investors received potentially encouraging news about inflation. The Commerce Department said that inflation rose 6.3% in April from a year earlier, the first slowdown since November 2020 and a sign that high prices may finally be moderating, at least for now.
