🔻President Joe Biden is preparing to announce his plan to forgive up to $10,000 of student loan debt for those who qualify based on their income, The Washington Post reported, citing three sources.

The policy is expected to come with strings attached, applying to only those making under $150,000 in income, according to the Post. CNN reports the income cap might be even lower at $125,000.

“No decisions have been made yet,” Vedant Patel, a White House spokesman, said in a statement to the newspaper Thursday.

📲Samsung is reportedly scaling back the number of phones it’s planning on producing in 2022, from 310 million to 280 million, according to SamMobile, which cites a report from Korean outlet Maeil Business News.

The lowered production targets will affect phones across its lineup, from low-end models to flagships.

🚹🚺⚧ Oklahoma has passed three bills targeting transgender people so far this year, following several similar moves made a year prior. It is part of a nationwide rollback of LGBTQ rights that centers upon characterizing transgender women as a threat to cisgender women.

On Thursday, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt signed into law the third “bathroom bill” to be passed in the US, although similar bills have been proposed in more than a dozen states.

Senate Bill 615 requires people using "Multiple occupancy restrooms or changing area" in Oklahoma to use the one that corresponds to the sex that appears on their birth certificate. Public schools that refuse to comply with this policy could lose 5% of state funding for their budget.

😵 On Thursday, a Rutherford County Schools board meeting voted to sack Helen Campbell, the principal of Walter Hill Elementary school, who was on unpaid suspension, after being accused of child abuse, according to Fox News.

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces and People's Militia of the DPR completely liberated Krasny Liman from Ukrainian nationalists;

▪️ The Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed the forward command post of the 30th mechanised brigade of the AFU in Bakhmut and command post of the territorial defence brigade in Soledar using high-precision air-based missiles;

▪️ Operational-tactical and army aviation have hit six command posts, one communication centre, four ammunition depots, two Grad MLRS batteries, as well as 50 areas of concentrated manpower and Ukrainian military equipment;

▪️ Russian air defence units have shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter near Orekhovo, Zaporozhye Region;
