🗿🇮🇹Archaeologists working in the Yucatan region of Mexico have revealed the remains of a centuries-old Mayan city, local media reported on Friday.

The city of Xiol which means "the spirit of man" in Mayan is believed to have been the home of some 4,000 people between 600 and 900 CE, during the late classic period.

The area was first uncovered in 2018 on a construction site for a future industrial park close to the town of Merida on Yucatan's northern coast. Archaeologists from the National Institute for Anthropology and History (INAH) then took over the site.

🚨One Person Dead, Seven Injured After Shooting at Memorial Day Festival in Oklahoma. The suspect, 26-year-old Skyler Buckner, turned himself in on Sunday afternoon. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.

One person was killed and another seven were injured as a result of the shooting at an outdoor festival in Taft, Oklahoma.

One of those injured is a 9-year-old child. The incident took place at an annual Memorial Day event at the Old City Square, which was reportedly around 1,500 people in attendance, including the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office.

▪️ Operational-tactical and army aviation have hit 3 strong points and 67 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration.

▪️ Russian air defence units have shot down 15 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.

▪️ Missile troops and artillery have hit 62 command posts, including those of Operational Command South near Novy Bug, Nikolaev Region, as well as 593 areas of AFU troop and military equipment concentration and 55 artillery and mortar batteries at firing positions.

▪️ Some 183 Ukrainian aircraft and 128 helicopters, 1,064 unmanned aerial vehicles, 325 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,323 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 451 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,731 field artillery and mortars, as well as 3,294 special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the operation.
