🚤 2nd body found after boat carrying 13 flips on Colorado lake
A boat flipped over in high winds on a Colorado lake over Memorial Day weekend, sending 13 people into the water and leaving two dead. One adult — Jessica Prindle, 38, of the community of Pueblo West — died at the scene, the Pueblo County coroner’s office said.
A Colorado Parks and Wildlife rescue team found a second victim’s body in 107 feet (32 meters) of water Tuesday morning after an all-night search, the state agency said in a statement. The coroner plans to release the victim’s identity after next of kin are notified.
The 11 others in the boat survived and were treated for hyperthermia at hospitals. Lake Pueblo is about 40 miles (64 kilometers) south of Colorado Springs.

💳 MoneyGram wants to use stablecoin USDC to 'build a bridge to crypto' for money transfer
MoneyGram is gearing up to add stablecoin USDC to its money-transfer services despite the recent Terra collapse, in a vote of confidence in digital currencies.
MoneyGram is still looking to launch a service that will let customers convert their holdings in wallets on the Stellar blockchain into Circle's stablecoin USDC. They can then send this within the US or overseas, and convert it into hard currency. Crypto is "obviously here to stay, and it's going to be here for a long time despite recent selloffs and volatility," says MoneyGram CEO Alex Holmes.
One place MoneyGram has its eye on is El Salvador, whose government adopted leading cryptocurrency bitcoin as legal tender in September.

🎞 Netflix's plan to charge people for sharing passwords is already a mess before it's even begun
The streaming giant started testing a stricter enforcement policy in March to prevent people from sharing passwords with people outside their "household" in Costa Rica, Chile, and Peru. Under the new policy, subscribers in those countries are technically subject to a $2.99 charge for every person outside their household who uses their account.
Peru's consumer agency recommended that Netflix work to clarify its definition of "household" with customers. Netflix's new policy of charging users for sharing passwords could lead to arbitrary discrimination against consumers. A Netflix representative says that the company was aware some consumers thought it meant anyone in an account holder's immediate family, the company defines a household as people who share a physical domicile.

🚨 Everything points to another busy hurricane season
The season that starts Wednesday looks like another note in a record-breaking refrain because all those ingredients for disaster are still going strong, experts warn.
They say these factors point to but don’t quite promise more trouble ahead: the natural climate event La Nina, human-caused climate change, warmer ocean waters, the Gulf of Mexico’s deep hot Loop Current, increased storminess in Africa, cleaner skies, a multi-decade active storm cycle and massive development of property along the coast.
Last year, the Atlantic set a record for six above average hurricane seasons in a row, smashing the old record of three in a row, and forecasters predict a seventh.

🏛 Supreme Court Blocks Texas Law Regulating Social Media Platforms
The Supreme Court on Tuesday blocked a controversial Texas social media law from taking effect, after the tech industry and other opponents warned it could allow for hateful content to run rampant online.
The decision does not rule on the merits of the law, known as HB20, but reimposes an injunction blocking it from taking effect while federal courts decide whether it can be enforced. The law prohibits online platforms from moderating or removing content based on viewpoint.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, signed a bill last fall that blocked the tech firms from restricting or removing content, a response to unsubstantiated complaints from former President Donald Trump and other conservatives that the sites censor Republican voices because of their viewpoints.
