A video of a Russian SU-24M jet flying over the British HMS Defender in the Black Sea has been released by Russia's Ministry of Defence.

Another video, made from inside the jet, shows the UK destroyer before the Russian aircraft fires a warning shot.

The ministry said earlier in the day that a Russian warship had fired warning shots after the UK destroyer trespassed into Russia's maritime borders.

According to the military, the British vessel was warned that deadly force would be used if it violated Russia's borders. The ship is said to have ignored the warning.

The UK, for its part, has denied that any warning shots were fired, adding that its warship was conducting an "innocent passage through Ukrainian territorial waters in accordance with international law".
