🇬🇧 🇷🇺 The UK Ministry of Defense has threatened to abandon fuel suppliers that use Russian oil.
"If oil products supplied to the Ministry of Defense are found to come from Russian suppliers, we will take immediate action to switch to alternate suppliers," the spokesman said.
The ministry reportedly buys fuel from a range of suppliers, including jet fuel from Greek company Motor Oil Hellas, which signed a five-year deal with Russia's Rosneft in November 2017.

"Laptop from hell" saga: Hunter Biden stored Google execs, US-China policy officials’ cell numbers on his computer
The contacts allegedly included at least six White House officials engaged in forming the country's policy on China, and ten Google executives. All of these officials held their posts while Hunter's father, Joe Biden, was vice president.
Some of the ten Google execs mentioned in Hunter's phonebook "were chummy" with him, and even got positions at the White House after leaving the tech giant during Joe Biden's vice presidency.

⚖️ Tesla is facing yet another racial discrimination lawsuit
Fifteen former or current Black Tesla employees are suing the company for allegedly failing to prevent racial discrimination at its factory in Fremont, California. The lawsuit, which was filed in a California court last week, details workers’ claims that they were subject to racial slurs, derogatory comments, and racially-motivated harassment in the workplace.
As outlined in the filing, workers allege their colleagues frequently used the N-word and other racist or discriminatory terms like “slavery” or “plantation” to describe the factory’s work culture. In addition, Tesla allegedly left racist graffiti on bathroom walls, benches, lockers, and workstations that contained “KKK,” the N-word, and drawings of swastikas.
Last year, a Black former elevator operator won his case that accused Tesla of not doing enough to prevent racial discrimination — he was awarded a reduced payout of $15 million.

🏎 Formula One driver Zhou Guanyu involved in scary crash at British Grand Prix
During the first lap Sunday at the British Grand Prix, Chinese Formula One driver Zhou Guanyu was involved in an intense crash that flipped his car and sent it skidding across the pavement before it flipped into a barrier against a fence. Zhou's car flipped immediately after that initial contact and skidded for several hundred feet across the track and then the gravel trap before its momentum sent it hurtling over the tire barrier and into a space between the barrier and the fence.
Zhou, posted a message to his verified Twitter account with a photo that showed him seemingly unscathed and smiling, indicating that he was well and that the halo was crucial in keeping him safe. "I’m ok, all clear," Zhou tweeted. "Halo saved me today. Thanks everyone for your kind messages!"

🗣 Texas clinics halt abortions after state high court ruling
Clinics were shutting down abortion services in the nation’s second-largest state Saturday after the Texas Supreme Court blocked an order briefly allowing the procedure to resume in some cases, the latest in legal scrambles taking place across the US following the reversal of Roe v. Wade.
Amy Hagstrom Miller, president of Whole Woman’s Health, said the ruling forced an end to abortions in its four Texas clinics, and workers there were winding down abortion operations and having “heartbreaking conversations” with women whose appointments were canceled. Planned Parenthood’s multiple affiliates in Texas had not resumed abortion services even after the restraining order was put in place Tuesday.
Also Friday, Google, said it would automatically purge information about users who visit abortion clinics or other places that could trigger potential legal problems.

⚖️ Meal kit company sued by customers who claim 'contaminated' lentils led to gallbladders removals
Vegan meal kit startup Daily Harvest has been hit with two lawsuits by customers alleging they needed gallbladder removals after eating one of the company's products. Last month the company issued a voluntary recall of its “French Lentil + Leek Crumbles” dish following multiple claims of gastrointestinal and liver issues from consumers.
Earlier this week, an Oregon-based content creator who claimed he also consumed the lentils and subsequently had to have his gallbladder removed filed a personal injury lawsuit against Daily Harvest
Yesterday, the FDA announced a formal investigation into the outbreak, in an effort to determine the cause. In a blog post, Daily Harvest said it received approximately 470 reports from customers who suffered adverse reactions after eating the product.

🌖 NASA targets late August to early September launch for Artemis 1 Moon mission
NASA has set an aggressive launch target for its Artemis 1 Moon mission following the successful June 20 “wet dress rehearsal” fueling test of the SLS rocket that will carry the flight to space.
Before the flight can get underway, technicians must complete final preparations on the SLS rocket, including replacing a seal that led to a hydrogen leak during its June 20 test. NASA began rolling the SLS back to the Kennedy Space Center’s Vehicle Assembly Building, where staff will work on the launch vehicle, on July 1.
Once Artemis 1 is finally underway, it will carry an unmanned Orion module on a trip around the moon to study how the flight might affect the human body. Artemis II will later take four astronauts to the satellite ahead of a planned lunar landing sometime in the second half of the decade.

🛢 Jeff Bezos Claims Biden ‘Misunderstands’ Market Dynamics With Gas Price Reduction Call
Billionaire Jeff Bezos has slammed Joe Biden's recent appeal to gas station owners to reduce their prices, claiming that the ask does not reflect how a market economy works and won't fix inflationary problem.
On 2 July, Biden appealed to petrol station owners via Twitter, asking them to unilaterally reduce their prices. He claimed that the amounts charged were not reflecting the costs gas stations pay when purchasing gasoline from suppliers.
Bezos, however, disagreed that the petrol stations were responsible for what is now known in the country as the "pain at the pump" – the feeling an average US car owner experiences seeing a gallon of gasoline as high as $6.27. He further stressed that with attitudes like Biden’s, the White House won't end the current decades-high inflation in the country.

🏍 Ducati's first electric motorcycle is designed for MotoE racing
The V21L prototype has that classic Ducati look but is swathed in carbon fiber and packs a 150HP electric motor with a 18kWh battery. As detailed in an announcement last year, Ducati will be the exclusive supplier of all 18 bikes used for FIM MotoE World Cup racing from 2023-2026.
The V21L can be charged to 80 percent in just 45 minutes and has enough range to complete the required seven laps of key GP tracks. It has reportedly hit speeds of up to 171 MPH at the Mugello MotoGP Circuit in Tuscany.
The e-motorbike is quite a bet by (and on) Ducati considering it's never done one before, but the company said it used its extensive racing experience to design the model. At the same time, it'll take racing lessons learned back to its consumer models.

Has the voice of liberal America - news giant CNN - had its day?
📊 In June, CNN's audience shrank to 487,000 viewers per day. This will come as no surprise to some observers: things started plunging south last year in September when CNN anchor Chris Cuomo was accused of sexual harassment and suspended indefinitely. Three months later, CNN producer John Griffin found himself charged with three counts of sexual crimes against minors, and Rick Saleeby, a producer for CNN show The Lead, was forced to leave the network after being arrested for sexual misconduct on 18 December.
Things certainly appear to be in a state of terminal decline and even with the undeniable talents of Chris Licht - the network's new boss since May - a revival is thought to be unlikely. Whatever the future holds, June represented CNN’s lowest daytime audience since November 2015
