"We concluded that the triathlon is a gender-affected sport and that means that athletes who were born male have an advantage over athletes who were born female and this advantage is significant in swimming, cycling and running," said British Triathlon chief executive Andy Salmon.

The British Triathlon Federation is also changing their men's category to 'open', meaning that it will be open to all athletes - men and transgender athletes.

🇨🇦🇺🇦One of the most famous foreign volunteer soldiers fighting for Ukraine turned out to be a fake

"Canadian Ukrainian Volunteer", a self-described member of a "four-man team" fighting in Kherson, Ukraine with over 118,000 followers on Twitter, has deleted his account after being exposed as a fraud.

His stories were full of bravery and cunning: in one post in April, he claimed to have infiltrated a Russian-controlled area in southern Ukraine on a bicycle while disguised as a Russian trooper.

“Our contact had warned us to remain in the shadows and not to expose ourselves to spying eyes. A window opening above us or a flicker of someone’s cigarette from a balcony, a barking dog in the distance, all were enough for us to cling to the walls in the darkness and hold our breath,” the "volunteer" wrote.

Online sleuths revealed that his weapons were just airsoft guns, and that his kit consisted of replicas. Eventually, an open-source intelligence expert sent the "volunteer" a phishing link that captured his IP address. It was discovered that the “brave volunteer” was posting from Ontario, not Ukraine (at least the part of his Canadian origin seems to be the truth).

A few days later, Canadian Volunteer in Ukraine closed the account and soon deleted it.
