“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6," reads the post. "The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Caan, who was born in 1940, starred in multiple movies, such as "The Godfather," as well as the film's sequel, "The Godfather II." He played the role of Sonny Corleone. He also starred in "Misery" opposite Kathy Bates, as well as "Elf" with Will Ferrell, and "El Dorado" with John Wayne. During his career, Caan was nominated for several awards, including four Golden Globes, an Emmy, and an Oscar.

The parents of children who died last year while trying a Blackout Challenge on TikTok have sued the popular social media platform.

The lawsuit was filed by the parents of two of those children, girls ages 8 and 9. They claim their kids became addicted to TikTok, were fed a constant stream of seemingly harmless challenge videos persuading them to participate, and then died after attempting the Blackout Challenge. (The Blackout Challenge encourages TikTok users to post videos where they choke themselves until they pass out.)

TikTok did not immediately respond to Ars' request for comment, but a TikTok spokesperson told The New York Times that "the company would not comment on continuing litigation." Parents want TikTok to pay for addicting their kids, demanding a jury trial to decide whether TikTok's design needs to change.

The footage shows the guide, Joao Severino, 38, leaning over the snake, according to a video shared by the New York Post. As the snake leaps out of the water, Severino shakes the camera backward and yells in shock as he’s bitten. After Severino and the others on the boat realize they are no longer in danger, laughter can be heard.

It’s unclear how large the animal was, but anacondas can reach as much as 30 feet in length, according to Live Science. The outlet noted that the average female anaconda is around 15 feet long, and males are about 9 feet.

Severino, an angling expert, spotted the massive snake while guiding tourists through the Araguaia River in Goias, Brazil, the outlet said.
