🗣 China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that the region's nations are the “real masters” in dealing with their disputes in the South China Sea: “In the process of implementing the DOC [the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea], we have always followed the Asian tradition of mutual respect and keeping promises, abandoning the zero-sum mindset, which has manifested the great value and vitality of the declaration.”

Wang also said that “extraterritorial powers” are deliberately provoking conflict in the region in order to maintain their “hegemony”, and they should be welcomed only if they promote “peace and cooperation”.

🔎According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Ghislaine Maxwell is serving her 20-year sentence at Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee. The FCI Tallahassee is a low-security federal correctional facility where inmates enjoy movies, a running track, and even yoga in the yard.

The disgraced socialite, who complained to the UN about human rights abuses during her two years in custody in Brooklyn, was expected to serve her time in the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Danbury, Connecticut — the prison that inspired “Orange Is the New Black.”

Maxwell, convicted last December in Manhattan and sentenced in June, repeatedly complained about her treatment at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, her home since her July 2020 arrest.
