A single ticket bought in a Chicago suburb beat the odds and won a $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot. According to megamillions.com, there was one jackpot-winning ticket in the draw Friday night, and it was bought at a Speedway gas station and convenience store in Des Plaines. ”We are thrilled to have witnessed one of the biggest jackpot wins in Mega Millions history,” Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald.

The jackpot was the nation’s third-largest lottery prize. It grew so large because no one had matched the game’s six selected numbers since April 15. That’s 29 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner. Lottery officials had estimated the winning take at $1.28 billion, but revised the number up to $1.337 billion on Saturday.

Just three days ago, White House Physician Kevin O'Connor said that US President Joe Biden had tested negative for COVID-19 and would end his strict isolation measures accordingly.

"Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again. This happens with a small minority of folks. I've got no symptoms, but I will isolate for the safety of everyone around me," the @POTUS handle indicated, adding that the president would continue to work "and will be on the road soon."

Biden, 79, was double-vaxxed and double-boosted when he caught COVID-19 last week. The president has strongly criticized unvaccinated Americans throughout the health emergency, calling it a "pandemic for those who haven't gotten the vaccination" and supporting measures to forcefully "encourage" people to get the jab.

🚨 Four men were arrested for 'horrific' planned and filmed attacks on the homeless in South Carolina.

According to authorities, four men in South Carolina are facing criminal charges, including attempted murder, after videos surfaced showing them brutally beating homeless people.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office released the video to the public, saying the four men committed the beatings over nine months and discovered the videos of the attacks while investigating a homicide earlier this month.

"Just absolutely horrific, monstrous acts," Lt. Ryan Flood told FOX Carolina. "To think that other human beings can do this to another human being is sickening." Deputies say that the attacks occurred at a homeless encampment in the San Souci area of Greenville between October 2021 and June 2022.

Russia has invited experts from the United Nations and the Red Cross to participate in the investigation into the deadly shelling of the pre-trial detention center in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) town of Elenovka, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The Elenovka detention center, hosting Ukrainian prisoners of war, was shelled by Ukrainian troops with US-supplied High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) on Friday morning. According to the DPR territorial defense, the death toll from the strike has reached 53, and the number of wounded has surpassed 130.
