📈The Johns Hopkins survey examined the percentage of adults who believe that threatening public health officials was justified rose from 15% to 21% from November 2020 to the summer of 2021, showing that antagonism extended beyond “those doubting science” (as it was mentioned in the Johns Hopkins research) and people hurting from the effects of COVID-19, to higher earners, political independents and those with more education.

Respondents earning $35,000 - $74,999 and higher, respondents who were male, respondents who identified as Hispanic and respondents who were Republicans were likely to be among the group of antagonists.

The research results’ claim that “ensuring the safety and sustainability of the public health workforce will necessitate finding new and tailored strategies to build trust with these groups”
