⚡Delegation of US lawmakers arrives in Taiwan days after Nancy Pelosi's provocative visit
📹 A plane with a US delegation has landed in Taipei. The American Institute in Taiwan (the de-facto American Embassy in Taiwan) has confirmed that Senator Ed Markey, Representative John Garamendi, Representative Alan Lowenthal, Representative Don Beyer, and Representative Aumua Amata Coleman Radewagen are visiting the island
▪A diplomatic feud erupted earlier this month when Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan, in violation of agreements underpinning China-US relations. This prompted the Chinese People's Liberation Army to start a series of exercises and training maneuvers in the area encircling the island. Taiwan has been governed independently from mainland China since 1949. However, Beijing views the island as a breakaway province and an inalienable part of China, which will eventually be reunited with the mainland

JK Rowling informed the police as soon as threats of violence against her were made on Twitter. After she expressed her concern for writer Sir Salman Rushdie, who was repeatedly stabbed by an assailant in New York state, a Twitter netizen wrote to her, "Don't worry, you're next".
After receiving threats, Rowling turned to Twitter support, but they did not see that the rules of the site had been violated in the comments that the writer complained about
