🚨Three people were injured in a shooting in a parking lot of an amusement park north of Chicago, including a woman from Appleton, that sent visitors scrambling for safety, authorities said.

Officers responded about 7:50 p.m. Sunday after 911 calls reporting shots fired at Six Flags Great America, about 45 miles north of Chicago, the Gurnee Police Department said. "The shooting ... was not a random act, and appeared to be a targeted incident that occurred outside the park," police said in a statement on Facebook.

According to an initial investigation, police said a white sedan entered the parking lot and drove toward the park's front entrance. People got out of the car and shot at another person in the parking lot before driving away, police said. Authorities told WGN-TV that police are still searching the area to ensure all guests and employees are accounted for.

💠Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are scheduled to visit the UK and Germany for three charity events next month. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to be visiting many charities close to their hearts in early September,” a spokesperson for the couple told reporters.

Since moving to California, Harry and Markle have only returned to London a few times. The Sussexes secretly visited Elizabeth II in April, stopping in the UK as they headed to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. It was the first time the former American actress had returned to the UK since the so-called “Megxit”.

While the couple has rarely been seen in public in California, Harry and Markle were spotted out and about in New York in July. Harry and his wife attended the United Nations facility for the UN Nelson Mandela Prize in New York.

🔶Two former Minneapolis police officers charged in George Floyd's killing told a judge Monday that they have rejected plea deals that would have resulted in three-year sentences, setting the stage for a trial in October.

Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng are charged with aiding and abetting both second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Floyd's death. They and Thomas Lane were working with Derek Chauvin when he pinned Floyd's neck with his knee for more than nine minutes as the 46-year-old Black man said he couldn't breathe and eventually grew still.

Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill had a limited window for accepting a plea deal ahead of trial. Monday's brief hearing formalized the two ex-officers rejections of the state's offers.

🔳The brother of retired NFL cornerback Aqib Talib turned himself into authorities Monday after police identified him as the suspect in the shooting death of a coach at a youth football game in Texas.

Police said that a murder warrant was issued for Yaqub Salik Talib, 39, in the fatal shooting on Saturday night of Michael Hickmon, 43, police in the Dallas-area city of Lancaster said.

According to witnesses, Talib pulled out a gun and shot Hickmon multiple times after a disagreement between the opposing coaching staff of two youth football teams over calls made by the officiating crew led to a physical fight, police said.

Police said they were still investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Several people, including children, were present when Hickmon was killed, police said.
