😲A north Texas community is fuming after an official high school counselor’s account posted inappropriate content on Instagram. On Sunday, the Emerson High School counselors’ Instagram account reposted a “self-help” graphic from another account. While some of the advice was relatively innocuous, like “don’t pressure yourself” and “prioritizing self-love is important for your mental and physical health,” one of the tips was “toys can help you overcome your sexual anxiety.”
The original post was meant to advertise a discount code for the “Empress 2 clitoral vacuum stimulator.”
The post quickly came to the attention of state representative Jared Patterson, who represents a portion of Frisco in the Texas Legislature. “The sexualization of our kids has to stop. The lack of accountability has to stop. The lies have to stop. The cover ups have to stop,” Patterson, whose children attend FISD schools, said in a Facebook post.

🚫🚘California regulators voted Thursday to approve a first-of-its-kind rule that would ban the sales of new gas-powered cars by 2035. Governor Gavin Newsom proposed the 2035 ban two years ago with an executive order that directed California Air Resources Board (CARB) and others to determine how to implement the plan.
The new rule requires automakers to hit milestones along the way. By 2026, 35 percent of new cars in California must be zero-emission vehicles, and the quota will rise to 68 percent by 2030, and 100 percent in 2035.
The rules would not impact used vehicles, allowing them to stay on the roads. The rules will not be immediate, and will go into effect in 2026, said CARB member Daniel Sperling. "The climate crisis is solvable if we focus on the big, bold steps necessary to stem the tide of carbon pollution," Newsom said on Wednesday.

🚀🧑🚀NASA and Boeing are now targeting early 2023 for the first crewed flight of Boeing's long-delayed Starliner spacecraft, officials said during a joint press conference Thursday.
Launch officials say the mission could take off as early as February, according to Steve Stich, the manager of NASA's Commercial Crew Program.
Starliner had been slated to get astronauts off the ground by the end of 2022. But continued work on several major issues that were identified on an uncrewed test flight of Starliner in May pushed the schedule back.
Starliner is already years behind schedule. It's intended to serve the same purpose as SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule, which has been ferrying astronauts to and from the International Space Station since May 2020.

🐶Despite the rising cases of parvo (a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs), the second largest meet-up of golden retrievers in the United States is still planning to take place in northern Michigan.
The Northwest Michigan Golden Retriever Club plans to hold its third annual gathering in Benzie County.
The club's founder Jeff Rabidoux said the club will continue to follow the advice of health officials.
"We're kind of in a holding pattern as it is, Michigan State University is obviously, in our state, the greatest source for veterinary knowledge,” Rabidoux said. “At this point, we're kind of sitting and waiting to see what additional information they might be able to provide so that we can make the best decision."

🔎A judge in the United States has ordered the Department of Justice to publicly release a redacted version of an affidavit that underpinned the FBI's search of former President Donald Trump's Florida home earlier this month.
US Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart's Thursday order came hours after a Justice Department spokesman confirmed that prosecutors had submitted a sealed copy of its affidavit with proposed redactions to the judge. Those redactions are likely to be extensive, so it is unclear how much new information about the investigation will be revealed.
Reinhart said the Justice Department had valid reasons to keep some of the document secret, including the need to protect the identities of witnesses and federal agents, the government's investigation, strategy, and grand jury material.

😧 The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) used intimidation against Turkish businessmen involved in trade with Russia, prying into their real estate contracts with Russians, Turkish daily Yeni Safak reported on Friday.
▪️ According to the newspaper, the CIA Turkey chief called and "openly threatened" the officials of construction companies with links to housing purchases made by Russian entities and individuals. The CIA official reportedly interviewed Turkish businessmen, asking them about the number of houses sold to Russians, the currency used in transactions and other confidential details.
▪️ Another instance of "meddling" in Turkish internal affairs includes a letter which, according to Yeni Safak, US Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo sent to Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD). The letter, reportedly dated this Monday, threatened to impose sanctions on TUSIAD members that were doing business with Russia.
