🇺🇸🇨🇺US activists told Sputnik the Biden administration must lift the very sanctions that helped fuel Cuba’s economic crisis in the first place, including those targeting payments from relatives in America.
"The US is using starvation as a weapon and cautioning the Cuban government not to use violence."
-National Network on Cuba Co-Chair Cheryl LaBash
"If the US was really concerned with the needs of the human beings in Cuba, in the context of a global pandemic, why not open one avenue to allow revenue to come in?"
-Filmmaker Catherine Murphy
The activists also said:
🔻Biden has failed to live up to campaign promises by refusing to ease any of the more than 240 restrictions imposed on Cuba by his predecessor.
🔻Cubans line up for hours at grocery stores, hospitals lack beds and medicine, and tourism and other key industries have "evaporated."
🔻The restrictions have also exacerbated Cuba's COVID-19 crisis including by delaying the roll-out of vaccines.
🔻External pressure will likely fail because Cuba will act to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity as history has shown.

🧐 Sounds like "Groundhog Day" with Psaki and Doocy.
The White House press secretary has once again gone to bat against Fox News’ Peter Doocy, adding to a growing list of squabbles between the two since the start of the Biden administration.
This time it was a Doocy question, "how long has the administration been spying on people’s Facebook profiles looking for vaccine misinformation?,” which appeared to take Psaki somewhat aback.
She quickly remarked that Doocy’s inquiry was a “loaded and inaccurate question which I would refute” and reiterated that all posts reviewed are publicly available, and, as such, would not suggest any “spying” efforts had occured.

There is far more interesting news to focus on
Fox News host Tucker Carlson ripped 'Idiot Republicans' for spending the past week focusing on the "human rights situation in Cuba" instead of paying attention to the ongoing crackdown on free speech at home in the US.
🗣 "It [Cuba] is not a free country, that's true, but increasingly neither are we, and they don't seem to notice what's going on in the country they're supposed to be running," Carlson said. "They're spending all their time focusing on this Caribbean nation. It's not central to our interests."
