🤷‍♂️ Elon Musk reportedly delayed buying Twitter for $44bn in May because he feared Vladimir Putin would declare World War III on the Victory Day

According to texts between the billionaire entrepreneur and his bankers revealed in a court hearing, Musk said that it “wouldn’t make sense to buy Twitter if we’re heading into World War III”.

Twitter lawyers use Musk's messages to argue that the billionaire wants cancel his $44 billion purchase of the social network for personal reasons, but not fear of fake accounts on Twitter.

“Let’s slow down just a few days. [Vladimir] Putin’s speech tomorrow is extremely important,” Musk wrote on May 8.
