❗️Russia’s MoD briefing;

▪️Russian forces hit the headquarters of the 5th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine and positions of the nationalist group "Kraken" in the areas of Balakleya and Chuguev using high-precision weapons. They equally hit the command post of the Ukrainian 54th Mechanized Brigade in the DPR, eliminating up to 300 Ukrainian troops and up to 15 Ukrainian units of military equipment;

▪️Russian forces hit seven Ukrainian command posts in the DPR and in the Nikolayev region, as well as 48 Ukrainian artillery units and 178 areas where Ukrainian troops and military equipment were concentrated;

▪️Russian forces destroyed six Ukraine missiles, artillery armament and munitions depots in the DPR and in the Zaporozhye region;

▪️Russian forces destroyed one Ukrainian radar for detecting and tracking air targets in the Nikolayev region;

▪️Within the counter-battery warfare, Russian forces suppressed two Ukrainian platoons of rocket artillery and five Ukrainian platoons of cannon artillery in the DPR;

▪️Russian forces destroyed one US-manufactured 155-mm M-777 howitzer in the DPR;

▪️Russian air defense destroyed 13 Ukrainian UAVs in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions and in the DPR, as well as intercepted five projectiles launched by HIMARS MRLS in the Kherson region.

❗️An update from Russia’s MoD on the current military situation in Ukraine:

▪️Russian forces powerfully hit the Ukrainian Army with the use of aviation, rocket troops and artillery;

▪️Russian forces eliminated more than 2,000 Ukrainian and foreign mercenaries, as well as destroyed more than 100 Ukrainian armored vehicles and artillery units;

▪️Russian forces held a number of distracting and demonstration events with the designation of the actual actions of the troops;

▪️Russian forces carried out a three-day operation to curtail and transfer the Izyum-Balakley group of troops to DPR territory;

▪️Russian troops regrouped in the areas of Balakleya and Izyum to increase efforts in the Donetsk direction in order to achieve the goals of the special military operation.

❗️🇬🇧The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday Sept. 19 at Westminster Abbey in London, Buckingham Palace announced.

Queen Elizabeth II will lie in state for four days at the Houses of Parliament in London.

The artillery battery of Msta-S 152-mm self-propelled howitzers had recently destroyed six Ukrainian armored vehicles, one mortar crew and one infantry section with BMP-1 personnel carrier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.

📈 President Joe Biden speaks after groundbreaking for Intel’s $20 billion semiconductor plant

Intel’s groundbreaking ceremony kicked off construction of what the company has called the “largest silicon manufacturing location on the planet.” It’s part of Intel’s plans to invest $100 billion in Ohio over the next 10 years.

The company has said that the project could take more than 7,000 workers to build the facility that is expected to house two separate factories and, once finished, employ 3,000 workers.

Earlier this month, Micron said that it would invest $15 billion to build a new plant in Idaho. On Friday, Wolfspeed announced a $5 billion investment to build a new semiconductor facility in North Carolina.

🚛 Rivian and Mercedes are teaming up to build electric vans more quickly

The companies are teaming up with the aim of building large electric vans more quickly, the goal is to produce two vans on common assembly lines. 

Both companies have already been working on electric vans, with Rivian having an agreement to build 100,000 of them for Amazon.  The company is setting up a second EV factory in Georgia, but production won't start there until 2024.

From Mercedes' perspective, this is part of a broader strategy to accelerate the transition to electric vans, by the middle of this decade, all of its new vans will be entirely electric.
