🇫🇷 Paris plans to reduce lighting on the Eiffel Tower… because of energy crisis.
🤔 Eiffel Tower management company SETE explained that contrary to popular belief, lighting the tower at night accounts for only 4% of the monument’s annual electricity bill, and the flashing of 20,000 LEDs flashing for five minutes at the beginning of each hour is done using energy efficient equipment. Therefore, the measure, which will be announced on September 13, is symbolic.

😂Weather alert: extreme temperatures and hate speech
📊Hot and cold weather impacts on the use of hate speeches on social networks, according to research published by the Lancet Health.
▪️Scientists used a supervised machine-learning approach to identify hate messages in a dataset containing around four billion geolocated tweets from 773 cities across the US.
▪️Then, they statistically evaluated the changes in daily hate tweets against local temperatures, isolating the temperature influence from confounding factors using binned panel regression models.
▪️The prevalence of hate tweets was lowest at moderate temperatures (12 to 21°C), while marked increases in the number of hate tweets were observed at hotter and colder temperatures, reaching up to 12.5% for cold temperature extremes (–6 to –3°C) and up to 22% for hot temperature extremes (42 to 45°C).
