🇫🇮 Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said that Western sanctions must affect the "everyday lives of ordinary Russians"

"We must continue our support to Ukraine in all of its forms and we must be ready to take more sanctions because the more impact we take with sanctions, the more expensive it will become for Russia to continue this war. The sanctions must be reflected in the everyday lives of ordinary Russians," Marin said during the plenary session of the European Parliament.

Marin also noted that the lifting of the visa facilitation agreement between the EU and Russia was "a well-founded decision," but it was "not enough."

Moscow repeatedly warned Europe that anti-Russian sanctions would only result in further escalation and won't solve the crisis. At the same time, the restrictions imposed by the West resulted in skyrocketing energy prices worldwide, leading to high inflation in Europe

🕋 Saudi authorities have arrested a man who claimed to have traveled to Mecca to perform an umrah pilgrimage on behalf of the late Queen Elizabeth II

▪️The man posted a video of himself holding a banner saying: “Umrah for the soul of Queen Elizabeth II, we ask God to accept her in heaven and among the righteous.” at Islam’s holiest site, the Grand Mosque, where non-Muslims are forbidden.

▪️The footage was circulated on Saudi media, with people calling for the man’s arrest.

▪️Saudi Arabia forbids pilgrims to Mecca from carrying banners or chanting slogans, and umrah can be performed on behalf of deceased Muslims but not non-Muslims like the Queen, who was supreme governor of the Church of England, the mother church of the global Anglican communion.

▪️Saudi security forces reportedly “arrested a resident of Yemeni nationality who appeared in a video clip carrying a banner inside the Grand Mosque” and “legal measures were taken against him and he was referred to the public prosecution," citing a statement carried by state media late on Monday.

❗️Russia’s MoD briefing on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine:

▪️Russian Air Forces performed high-precision attacks, hitting the provisional bases of Ukrainian units from the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade, the 115th Mechanized Brigade, and the 53rd Mechanized brigades in the DPR;

▪️In addition, Ukrainian units from the 35th Marine Brigade and 57th Mechanized Infantry Brigade in the Nikolayev region, the Mountain Assault Brigade in the Zaporozhye region, and the 14th Mechanized Brigade in the Kharkov region have also been hit by the Russian Forces during attacks.

▪️The attacks have resulted in 800 casualties among Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries;

▪️Russian Forces hit 12 Ukrainian command posts in the DPR, in the Zaporozhye region and in the Nikolayev region, as well as hit 47 Ukrainian artillery units and 152 areas where Ukrainian manpower and military equipment are concentrated;

The kangaroo initially prevented medical staff from treating the man, and police claim that they were forced to shoot the marsupial dead to enable paramedics to reach him.

⚡️Dmitry Medvedev: Kiev's security guarantees project is "Prelude to World War Three"

❗️Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discuss the situation in Ukraine, the need to ensure security of the Zaporozhye NPP and global food security during Tuesday phone call

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev lambasted Zelensky's project of Ukraine's "security guarantees," warning that its implementation may appear as a “prelude to World War Three”.

Medvedev mentioned that the presented plan equates to extending NATO’s military protection over Ukraine, warning the bloc’s members to stop pumping Kiev with weapons to prevent the conflict from escalating further, becoming less predictable and dragging more countries.

If this were to happen, "Then the [people in] western countries will not be able to sit in their clean houses and apartments, laughing at how they weaken Russia using proxies. Everything around them will go up in flames. Their citizens will get their fair share of woes. The earth will literally burn and the concrete will melt around them," Medvedev said.
