🔌 Crypto mining out of control in Biden administration.
White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) published a report of the US crypto mining. The industry operations in the US pump out about as much greenhouse gas pollution annually as all the diesel fuel used on railroads, 25 to 50 million metric tons of carbon dioxide per year. This amount of electricity is similar to all of the computer usage or all the residential lighting.
Under the Paris agreement, the US has committed to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50 percent from peak levels by 2030. At this rate of growth, meeting the objectives of the agreement is further and further away.

Puerto Rico girds for possible hurricane as TS Fiona nears
Tropical Storm Fiona inched closer to Puerto Rico on Saturday, with forecasters warning the system will likely grow into a hurricane before hitting the island on Sunday. Extremely heavy rains with the potential to cause landslides, severe flooding and power outages are anticipated.
Ahead of landfall, more than 20 people were rescued amid heavy wind and rain that left 13,000 customers without power in the French territory of Guadeloupe. The storm has destroyed roads, downed trees and brought down at least one bridge.
In Puerto Rico, authorities opened shelters and closed public beaches, casinos, theaters and museums as they urged people to remain indoors.

🍻 Germany’s Oktoberfest opens after 2-year hiatus
The Oktoberfest has typically drawn about 6 million visitors every year to packed festival grounds in Bavaria’s capital. They will need significantly deeper pockets than at the last Oktoberfest, with brewers and visitors facing pressure from inflation. A 1-liter (2-pint) mug of beer costs between 12.60 and 13.80 euros this year, which is an increase of about 15% compared with 2019.
Brewing equipment is often fueled by natural gas, and prices for barley malt - or grain that has been allowed to germinate by moistening it - have more than doubled, to over 600 euros a ton. Glass bottles have risen by 80%, as glassmakers pay more for energy. Bottle caps are up 60%, and even glue for labels is in short supply. Inflation hit an annual 7.9% in Germany in August, and a record 9.1% in the 19 countries that use the euro currency.

▪️ Former President Donald Trump took the stage at the Save America rally in Youngstown on Saturday.
🗣 Ex-POTUS, while delivering remarks in support of Republican Senate Candidate J.D. Vance, said that the Germans could "be left without a country" due to the reduction in Russian energy supplies.
▪️ According to him, he had long warned Germany about such a threat, and even somehow gave Merkel a white flag to "surrender" to Russia.
🤔 Among other things, Donald Trump said President Biden was emptying the strategic oil reserve in an attempt to bring down fuel prices as much as possible ahead of the fall election, and predicted that with the end of the electoral season, gasoline prices will rise sharply again.

⚡️ The latest statements of Russia's first deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky on the delay issuing visas for Russian diplomats heading to the UN General Assembly:
▪️ Moscow expects that the entire delegation going to the UN General Assembly will receive American visas.
▪️ The very fact that visas are being issued literally on the eve of the visit is an unprecedented situation that significantly complicates the solution of organizational and logistical issues.
▪️ Russia will insist that the UN Secretary General launch arbitration against the United States due to regular problems with the issuance of visas to diplomats.
▪️ Earlier, Dmitry Polyansky said that Washington was refusing to issue visas to most of the Russian delegation slated to attend the UN General Assembly meeting, which will take place in New York on September 19-23.

🇺🇳 The behavior of Ukrainian representative in the UN Security Council (UNSC) is openly resented on the sidelines of the Organization, which puts Kiev's backers in an awkward situation, Russian Deputy Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky told Sputnik on Sunday.
🗯 "The behavior of the Ukrainian delegation to the Security Council already crosses all boundaries and puts Kiev's Western patrons in an awkward position," Polyansky said, adding that Ukrainian representative constantly verbally attack Russian diplomats, claiming that Russia is an unlawful member of the UNSC.
▪️ Western countries do not allow themselves to criticize Kiev and its UN envoy, the diplomat noted.
🗣 "So the delegation of Ukraine turns its speeches in the Security Council into a scenes of cheap and scandalous talk shows. However, by acting in this way, the permanent representative of Ukraine is doing a disservice to both their country and its backers. After all, it is quite obvious that a representative of a country, demonstrating the lack of basic diplomatic decency, harms the image of the country he represents," Polyansky stressed.
📌 The diplomat noted that on the sidelines of the UN, more and more countries are openly outraged by this situation, they directly say that the manner of behavior of the Ukrainian permanent representative harms the image of his country.
