🇬🇧 🔽 The UK pound fell to a record low against the US greenback in early trading on Monday after UK Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng said last week the government would fund the country's biggest tax cuts in five decades with increased borrowing.

📌 Last week, Mr. Kwarteng announced £45 billion in debt-financed tax cuts that sparked a sell-off in UK government bonds as investors shunned fixed income investments, amid an inflation rate which had reached its highest point in four decades.

🇷🇺 🇻🇪 Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faria, in an interview with Sputnik, confirmed that his country and Russia maintain a high level of cooperation, and said that during a meeting with his counterpart Sergey Lavrov, they confirmed their status as reliable strategic partners.

▪️ The minister also noted that Venezuela would welcome the expansion of the use of the ruble in its resorts and hoped for the restoration of tourist flows from Russia in the near future.

▪️ He also said that trade between Russia and Venezuela has been complicated by anti-Russian sanctions, but has not been rendered impossible, with both Moscow and Caracas exploring ways to continue cooperation.
