🚀 Russian hypersonic missile systems are more advanced than anything being fielded by the North Atlantic Alliance today, France’s Le Figaro says
The French newspaper characterized Russia’s hypersonic weaponry as its main strategic asset, capable of flying at incredible speeds and maneuvering while in flight. It pointed specifically to the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle – a weapon deployable as a part of a multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle payload aboard Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles.
💬“In this specific area, Russia is indeed one step ahead of its NATO adversaries,” the newspaper conceded.
The paper added that Russia and China proceeded to develop hypersonic missiles in response to NATO’s efforts to construct a missile defense shield.

🎙In off-the-cuff remarks on September 26, Pope Francis urged Italians to have more children. While in southern Italy for the closing of an Italian church congress and an open-air Mass, the Pope told reporters, “I’d like to ask Italy: More births, more children."
Francis has frequently referred to Italy's "demographic winter." Today, Italy is among the nations with the lowest birth rates in the world.
Similarly, Prime Minister-elect Giorgia Meloni campaigned on a "God, family, and homeland" theme. She has proposed offering larger financial incentives for couples to have children.

📲🌊The FOX Forecast Center is now monitoring two Atlantic tropical disturbances for possible development in the week ahead. October ranks as the most-active month of low activity in the Atlantic Basin, typically producing about two named storms, one of which becomes a hurricane.
And every other October, one of those hurricanes intensifies into a “major hurricane,” achieving Category 3 or higher intensity on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.
Two disturbances currently have the potential to develop into tropical depressions or storms in the coming days, one in the central tropical Atlantic and the other in the eastern tropical Atlantic. If either or both of these systems becomes tropical storm with winds of at least 39 mph, they will earn the names Julia and Karl in their order of formation.

🇺🇸🌪Hundreds of thousands of people were stuck without power and other basic needs days after Hurricane Ian ripped through Florida. Recovery from the deadly storm was estimated to cost billions of dollars easily.
First responders searched door-to-door for survivors or bodies of people who perished from the Category 4 storm’s whipping winds that topped 150 mph and pounding rain that caused massive flooding.
As of Sunday morning, 850,000 homes and businesses lacked electricity as Florida utilities raced to turn the lights back on. That’s a sharp reduction from the peak of 2.67 million homes and businesses that didn’t have power. Insurers estimated the recovery from the storm would be between $28 billion and $47 billion in claims, which could be the highest in Florida’s history, according to US property data and the analytics company CoreLogic.

🇭🇹Haiti’s government on Sunday pronounced that at least eight people have died from cholera, raising alarms about a potentially fast-spreading scenario and reviving memories of an epidemic that killed nearly 10,000 people a decade ago.
The cases - the first cholera deaths reported in three years - came in a community called Dekayet in southern Port-au-Prince and in the gang-controlled seaside slum of Cite de Soleil, where thousands of people live in cramped, unsanitary conditions.
“Cholera is something that can spread very, very quickly,” warned Laure Adrien, director general of Haiti’s health ministry.
Food or water contaminated with the cholera bacteria can lead to severe diarrhea and dehydration, which can be deadly. The United Nations said in a statement that it is working with Haiti’s government to “mount an emergency response to this potential outbreak,” stressing that health teams need to be guaranteed safe access to areas where cases have been reported.

Hillary Clinton is preparing for another presidential run and has criticized Biden's immigration policy, trying to appear more centrist than President Biden, Dick Morris, a political consultant and former aide to Bill Clinton says.
🗣“These are all signals that she is going to be the moderate candidate for president. She’s going to say after the [midterm] election, ‘See, the left cost us the House and the Senate. If we stay with a left-wing candidate in 2024, we’re going to lose the White House. I’m the only one who will tack to the center and give us a chance at victory.’”
