🇯🇵Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida has appointed his son as a senior political aide.

Government spokesman Hirokazu Matsuno said, that Shotaro, the oldest of Kishida’s three sons, was named executive secretary to the prime minister. He also added that appointment was appropriate: “Appointments are about putting the right person in the right role based on character and expertise, and I believe this one is no different”

However, the political decision to appoint Shotaro as a senior political aide has generated speculation that the older Kishida was likely preparing his son for eventual succession by exposing him to high-level policymaking as well as prompted accusations of nepotism. In addition, critics described the country’s leadership as increasingly controlled by powerful dynasties.

“This is, essentially, preferential treatment for family,” Yuichiro Tamaki, the head of the opposition Democratic Party for the People, said.

🇷🇸 🇺🇦 Kiev has never demanded that sanctions be imposed or a trial be held for those involved in the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, but at the same time demands punishment for Russia for its military operation in Ukraine, Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Tuesday.

▪️ Earlier in October, Ukrainian Ambassador Volodymyr Tolkach told the N1 broadcaster that Kiev didn't understand Belgrade's position on sanctions against Russia and urged Serbia to join the Western policy regarding Moscow.

🗣 "Dozens of Serbian boys and girls were killed during the NATO bombing. I cannot recall Ukraine's demand that a special meeting of the UN Security Council be held or sanctions be imposed on the aggressor against Serbia. It is not too late for Ukraine and all countries demanding trial for crimes in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, to demand a trial of the murderers of Serbian children during the NATO aggression," Vulin was quoted as saying by the Serbian Interior Ministry.

❗️Russia’s MoD briefing on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine:

▪️Russian Air Forces hit the headquarters of Ukrainian Eastern Air Command in a Southwestern suburb of Dnepropetrovsk;

▪️Russian Forces launched missile attacks at areas where Ukrainian units were concentrated: from the 14th and 92nd mechanized brigades. As a result, up to 100 Ukrainian servicemen and 16 units of military equipment were eliminated;

▪️Russian Forces launched a massive fire attack at Ukrainian units from the 66th Mechanized Brigade and two Ukrainian provisional bases. As a result, more than 120 Ukrainian combatants and 14 units of armored equipment were eliminated;

▪️Russian Forces launched a missile attack at the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian 54th Mechanised Brigade near Lisichansk. As a result, up to 90 Ukrainian servicemen, as well as 3 tanks and 6 armored vehicles were eliminated;

▪️Russian Forces performed missile strikes at the munitions depot of the Ukrainian 65th Mechanized Brigade in the Zaporozhye region and at the manufacturing workshops for aircraft reparation at Motor Sich plant. The attacks have resulted in the destruction of more than 15 tons of ordnance and of 2 Ukrainian Mi-24 combat helicopters.

▪️Russian Air Forces attacked units from the Ukrainian 24th Mechanized, 17th Tank and 128 Mountain Assault brigades, eliminating up to 250 Ukrainian troops as well as 9 tanks, 12 infantry combat vehicles and 20 motor vehicles;

▪️Russian Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery hit five Ukrainian command posts in the DPR, in the Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson and Nikolayev regions. In addition, they hit 43 Ukrainian artillery units and 157 areas where Ukrainian manpower and military equipment are concentrated;

▪️Russian Forces destroyed 5 Ukrainian missile, artillery armament and munitions depots in the DPR, Zaporozhye and Nikolayev regions;

▪️Russian Forces destroyed a Ukrainian Buk-M1 air defense missile system in the DPR, as well as one radar for S-300 air defense missiles in the Dnepropetrovsk region

▪️Russian Air Forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft in the DPR and a Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft in the Kherson region;

▪️Russian air defenses destroyed 8 Ukrainian UAVs in the DPR, Kharkov and Kherson regions.

▪️Russian Forces intercepted 2 Tochka-U ballistic missiles in the LPR as well as destroyed 9 projectiles launched by HIMARS and Olkha MRLS in the Kherson region.
