🗯 "Look, this is a sick, perverse thing that’s going on in a country where medical professionals are getting in the heads of young kids and telling them "Oh, yeah, we'll fix all your problems. Let's just cut off your junk". It's absolutely insane. And that's the best they got is a guy who's creating a sanctuary state for cutting off kids genitals", says Larry Ward, President of Conservative Rights PAC

🐔The European Union's Food Safety Agency said that with nearly 50 million poultry being culled this year, Europe is experiencing its worst bird flu crisis, raising the risk of widespread infections next season.

In a statement issued this week, Guilhem de Size, a senior official at the Food Safety Agency, said, "As autumn migration begins and the number of wild birds wintering in Europe increases, they are likely at higher risk of HPAI infection than previous years, due to the observed persistence of the virus in Europe."

The Food Safety Agency said that this season's epidemic had affected 37 European countries, the highest number on record. The virus crossed the Atlantic for the first time, causing a severe outbreak in several Canadian provinces and the U.S. States.

🔎Federal agents investigating Hunter Biden believe they have enough evidence to support charging the son of President Joe Biden with tax crimes and making a false statement concerning the purchase of a gun, The Washington Post reported.

The final decision on whether to bring a case against the 52-year-old will be made by Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, who was appointed to the post by former President Donald Trump.

The Washington Post, citing people familiar with the investigation, reported that agents had determined months ago that they had assembled a viable criminal case against Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden announced in December 2020 that his “tax affairs” were being investigated by federal authorities in Delaware. He said he was “confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately.”

🚨Two people have died, and six others were injured during a stabbing rampage in front of the Wynn Casino on the famed Las Vegas Strip on Thursday in what police call an unprovoked attack.

Police began receiving reports of a "series of stabbings" on Las Vegas Boulevard at about 11:40 a.m. Police quickly took a suspect into custody and began providing medical aid to victims. Capt. Dori Koren with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.

"The weapon we recovered was a large kitchen knife," the police report.

It was too early in the investigation to determine a motive, police said, but officials believe the incident was unprovoked.

🗣President Joe Biden predicted Thursday that a $20 billion investment by IBM in New York’s Hudson River Valley would help give the United States a technological edge against China, hailing the expansion during an appearance with two House Democrats in competitive races next month’s critical elections.

The president cited IBM’s commitment as part of a larger manufacturing boom spurred by this summer’s passage of a $280 billion measure intended to boost the semiconductor industry and scientific research. That legislation was needed for national and economic security, Biden said in Poughkeepsie, adding that “the Chinese Communist Party actively lobbied against” it.

“The United States has to lead the world of producing these advanced chips — this law is going to make sure that it will,” Biden said. The speech was part of a whirlwind trip that focused heavily on campaigning and included two fundraising events.

🦠😷A new Covid-19 wave appears to be brewing in Europe as cooler weather arrives, with public health experts warning that vaccine fatigue and confusion over types of available vaccines will likely limit booster uptake.

Omicron subvariants BA.4/5 that dominated this summer are still behind the majority of infections, but newer Omicron subvariants are gaining ground. Hundreds of new forms of Omicron are being tracked by scientists, World Health Organization (WHO) officials said this week.

WHO data released late on Wednesday showed that cases in the European Union (EU) reached 1.5 million last week, up 8 percent from the prior week, despite a dramatic fall in testing. Globally, case numbers continue to decline. Hospitalization numbers across many countries in the 27-nation bloc, as well as Britain, have gone up in recent weeks.
