🎙🚫Turkey adopts law jailing those spreading 'disinformation'
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will enact a law making it unlawful for journalists or citizens to distribute "disinformation." Turkey's parliament approved the new law, which would jail journalists and social media users for up to three years for spreading "disinformation."
The bill was quickly approved by members of parliament from Erdogan's ruling AK Party (AKP) and its nationalist allies MHP, who form a majority in parliament. The new law states that those who spread false information online about Turkey's security and "create fear and disturb public order" will face a prison sentence of one to three years.
European observers have noted that the new law has no definition of "false or misleading information," allowing for yet another crackdown on dissent in Turkey, a country of 85 million.

🇬🇧UK Prime Minister Truss says 'sorry' for mistakes, but 'I'm sticking around.'
Prime Minister Liz Truss apologized for making mistakes after the new chancellor Jeremy Hunt junked almost all of her tax-cutting plans to stabilize market turmoil.
"I am sorry for those mistakes, but I fixed those mistakes. I appointed a new chancellor, and we have restored economic stability and fiscal discipline," she told broadcasters. She added that her month-old premiership "hasn't been perfect," but she had "fixed" mistakes.
Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt, appointed on Friday after Truss dismissed her close ally Kwasi Kwarteng, jettisoned the remaining significant planks of her tax-cutting agenda on Monday, including scaling back her vast energy support scheme. Ms. Truss became PM after winning the Tory leadership contest on the back of promises to dramatically cut taxes and upend the status quo in the Treasury.

🖼An incredible model shows how Jesus Christ may have been unveiled in Spain.
The hyper-realistic sculpture, made of latex, silicone, and natural human hair, has been based on data collected from the famous Shroud of Turin. The lifelike model even features all the wounds said to have been inflicted on the Messiah, including cuts to its head where the crown of thorns is said to have been forced down upon his head.
The sculpture, which weighs 165.3 lbs and is 5ft 10', also features the wound inflicted on Jesus' side by the Holy Lance and the numerous scratches to his body he is said to have sustained after Pilate ordered him to be whipped and mocked. Some believe the mysterious relic is the bloodstained burial cloth of Jesus after his crucifixion, while others have argued that it is an elaborate fake.

🇭🇹Haitians Demonstrating Against Henry, US-Canadian ‘Invasion’ Ignored by Western Media
As the United Nations positions for yet another military intervention in Haiti, Western media has ignored the massive demonstrations in the island nation against both acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry and the possible arrival of new foreign troops.
Thousands have demonstrated in Haitian cities for months, calling for Henry’s resignation after he arbitrarily rejected the transfer of power to a provisional government and decided to stay in power after his mandate expired in February. Those demonstrations have intensified recently after Henry appealed to the international community to help him restore order.

🇬🇧 Liz Truss’s new Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, who on Monday ditched further tax cuts introduced by his predecessor Kwasi Kwarteng in his disastrous “mini-Budget,” called on Tory critics to give the PM “a chance” and ruled out he had ambitions to succeed her.
▪️ As Liz Truss embarked on a flurry of talks to salvage her tottering premiership on Monday amid warnings that she was “in office but not in power,” speculations surfaced regarding a tacit pact between a Penny Mordaunt ally and Rishi Sunak, The Times reported.
▪️ Sunak was allegedly approached by an ally of the leader of the House of Commons last week to discuss whether he would consider becoming Chancellor again in a Mordaunt government in the event that Liz Truss is forced to resign. The suggestion was purportedly rebuffed by Sunak, with a second source acknowledging the private conversation took place, but denying there had been a formal offer.
