🇬🇧 The share of UK citizens who support more sanctions against Russia even at cost of more costly energy bills has decreased to 41% as domestic inflation continues to accelerate, an Ipsos poll revealed on Monday.

▪️ The survey showed that a total of 70% of respondents support the introduction of sanctions against Russia in general, but only 41% express support even though it is likely to raise energy prices.

⬇️ It was noted that this is a significant decrease since March, when the share of general support was 78% and 73% of voters were willing to support sanctions that would lead to increased energy prices in the UK.

😤 US President Joe Biden raised his voice at Volodymyr Zelensky during their phone conversation as the Ukrainian president was asking for additional aid, sources told US media.

🤔 The report suggested that right after Biden confirmed he had approved a $1 billion aid package, Zelensky started listing all the help he needed, but was not receiving. This infuriated Biden, who raised his voice to reprimand Zelensky, saying that the Ukrainian leader could show a little more gratitude.

▪️ The report also suggested that the relations between the two presidents only got better after Kiev went into damage control mode, with Zelensky praising the US for its generosity in weapons deliveries and financial aid.

▪️ At the same time, other reports said there were tensions between Kiev and Washington on several occasions, after Zelensky publicly said that the American assistance is not sufficient for Ukraine or slow, causing discontent in the White House.

💬 "It's insane. And it would be a horrible move for the Biden administration, particularly at this point. You know, one of the best kept secrets in Washington is the militarization of Africa that began after 9/11. Despite the fact, that, of course, there's always been this sort of colonial presence by the West and including the United States in Africa. There was really no military. There weren't any military bases. Think there was one up until 2001 or 2002 when George Bush tried to expand. And then AFRICOM came, I think, in 2007. And this is the thing that I think people really don't understand. Obama dramatically expanded the United States military footprint in Africa", Jon Jeter, author and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, a former Washington Post bureau chief and award-winning foreign correspondent, says.
