The Russian Embassy in the United States plans to issue a complaint to the US government over their failure to provide adequate conditions during the meeting with Russian citizen Alexander Vinnik in a prison in California, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told reporters.

Earlier on Thursday, Antonov visited Vinnik at the prison in San Francisco where he is being detained.

🗣️"I will come to Washington, we will write to the State Department and I will express my negative attitude to my colleagues from the White House. We have a written consent to have a contact with our compatriot, we consider the situation that has happened now simply unacceptable," Antonov said on Thursday

Numerous states and school districts have introduced rules in recent years barring transgender students from using the public bathrooms for their gender. It’s just one part of a wide-ranging conservative offensive aimed at delegitimizing the identities of transgender people in the US.

American podcaster Joe Rogan has walked back claims he made on his show last month about schools being forced to place litter boxes, normally used by house cats, in their bathrooms to be used by “furry” students who identify as cats.

🗣️ “I think there was discussions about doing it because there was one particularly wacky mother, but there is - it doesn't seem that there's any proof that they put a litter box in there.”

❗️🇱🇰 Sri Lanka's Health Ministry said on Friday it had detected the first case of monkeypox in the country.

🦠 The virus has been detected in a 20-year-old man, who came to Sri Lanka from Dubai on November 1, according to the country's health minister, Keheliya Rambukwella.

📍The Medical Research Institute (MRI) of Sri Lanka said on Friday that the man had been referred to a clinic with enlarged lymph nodes, fever and skin blisters on November 2. The MRI collected samples and conducted a PCR test on monkeypox, which was confirmed as a result.

📈 As of November 2, 77,935 confirmed monkeypox cases, including 36 fatalities, had been registered in 109 countries since the beginning of 2022, according to the latest data from the WHO.
