In Abu Dhabi he held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It was their fourth meeting this year. Russia’s top diplomat is expected to take part in the “Sir Bani Yas” forum on peace and security bringing together 120 participants – both acting and retired diplomats. ❗️🇱🇰 Sri Lanka's Health Ministry said on Friday it had detected the first case of monkeypox in the country.

🦠 The virus has been detected in a 20-year-old man, who came to Sri Lanka from Dubai on November 1, according to the country's health minister, Keheliya Rambukwella.

📍The Medical Research Institute (MRI) of Sri Lanka said on Friday that the man had been referred to a clinic with enlarged lymph nodes, fever and skin blisters on November 2. The MRI collected samples and conducted a PCR test on monkeypox, which was confirmed as a result.

📈 As of November 2, 77,935 confirmed monkeypox cases, including 36 fatalities, had been registered in 109 countries since the beginning of 2022, according to the latest data from the WHO.

Commenting on the ruling by a UK court in the bribery case of giant commodities trader Glencore, NJ Ayuk, chairman of South African energy legal group, the African Energy Chamber, told Sputnik in an interview that the $310Mln fine imposed on Glencore could be considered insufficient for the five-year crime that was perpetrated.

🗣"The decision is totally unfair. Glencore executives should be in jail. It is a miscarriage of Justice that the Glencore executives who engaged in illegal behavior will not face any repercussions. If it were an African company they would all be in jail in a moment," he said.
