🌵🇬🇧 British troops are training with their US counterparts for a conflict in Europe and the Pacific with a wargame in the Mojave Desert, British media reports.

▪️Some 450 soldiers, including members of the British Army's crack Rangers unit that was formed just last year, have flown to the 1,000-square-mile Fort Irwin site in California for the Project Convergence exercise.

▪️According to the report, they, along with US and Australian counterparts, will test new combat techniques developed from lessons learned from the conflict in Ukraine — on plains resembling the country's steppes.

▪️NATO and its member states have insisted they are not involved in the conflict in Ukraine. But the US, UK and others have supplied large quantities of arms, intelligence, military planning and training for Kiev's forces — both before and after Russia launched its special military operation on February 24.

▪️As of Friday, the Twitter Blue subnoscription service was no longer available on the iOS store. The move seemingly came in response to a number of paying users who took advantage of the scheme to mock public figures and brands.

Lawyers for the former US president noted in the late Friday suit that Trump retains immunity as former commander-in-chief.

▪️The first lower back tattoo discovered was on the preserved left hip of a woman who had died when she was middle-aged. Found next to her body was a bowl—a symbol of a postnatal ritual, along with depictions of Bes, an ancient Egyptian deity of music and childbirth. The partially existing tattoo, if symmetrical at the time when the woman was still alive, would have run along her lower back.

▪️ Former President Donald Trump is still going to announce his 2024 presidential campaign on Tuesday, longtime adviser Jason Miller said in an interview.

▪️On Monday, Trump said he had a "big announcement" to make on November 15. However, The Washington Post reported that longtime allies urged Trump to delay the move until after the Georgia senate runoff in December.

PLA’s Newest Amphibious Assault Ship Anhui Joined ‘Combat-Oriented’ Drills, Chinese Media Says

▪️ The third Type 075 warship, Anhui, recently took part in “combat-oriented training,” according to Chinese media, which said it proved the Anhui had entered active service with the Chinese navy. A report on Weibo said the ship was “fully upgrading its combat readiness and war-fighting capabilities.”

▪️ The Anhui thus joins the Guangxi and the Hainan, the other two Type 075 ships, in buttressing the PLAN’s blue-water power projection. The Type 075 is China’s first amphibious assault ship, also called a landing helicopter dock (LHD): a type of helicopter carrier that is also capable of disembarking significant marine assault forces.

📹 Two unknown ships were spotted passing within the vicinity of the Nord Stream pipelines prior to the explosion, the CEO of the satellite imagery analytics platform SpaceKnow, Jerry Javornicky, said on Friday.

💬 "We have detected some dark [unidentified] ships, meaning vessels that were of a significant size, that were passing through that area of interest," Javornicky told a US magazine.

▪️ According to the media, two ships, measuring around 95 to 130 meters long, were spotted passing several miles of the Nord Stream leak sites.

😐 The United Kingdom and the European Union are planning to do "everything possible" to isolate Russia during the G20 Summit in Bali next week and encouraging other countries to stage walkouts during speeches of the Russian delegation, a Britsh newspaper reported on Friday, citing sources.

🗣 "We try to work with partners in order to show very, very, very firmly what the international community thinks about all these crimes, atrocities, and illegal actions by Russia," an EU foreign service spokesman told the media, adding that "that means also discouraging them from meeting [Russian Foreign Minister Sergey] Lavrov or from meeting anyone who is leading the Russian delegation or have people walk out when Russia stands to speak."
