🇫🇷 Former French presidential candidate Segolene Royal called for sanctions against those who publish false information about the origin of the rockets that fell on Polish territory, which contributes to inciting the conflict in Ukraine, and not to its settlement.

🗯"For many hours, disinformation about Poland has generated fear and increased threats. Sanctions are needed against military propaganda authors who want to obstruct the ceasefire, and the creation of an authority to verify military information," the politician wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

💬“I've been saying ever since April-May: lists have replaced laws. And even in the witch trials in 17th century, I would have been convoked to court. They would have tortured me, but they would have told me what I'm accused of. Right? Dancing with the devil. That's, for instance, one traditional accusation or poisoning animals. I mean, these are the things I'm accused of in contemporary witch trials. And the witch trials in 17th century when you go to the archives of the Vatican, you will find a meticulous protocol of what was going on. You know, it was rather I don't want to sound sarcastic or ironic and certainly not cynical, but it was, I would say, rather in compliance with certain rules of procedures.” Dr. Karin Kneissl, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria said.

🤔Donald Trump Jr., the son of former US president Donald Trump, said on Wednesday the United States should stop sending billions of dollars in security and economic assistance to Kiev after a Ukrainian missile hit Poland earlier this week.

💬"Since it was Ukraine's missile that hit our NATO ally Poland, can we at least stop spending billions to arm them now?" Trump Jr. said via Twitter.

❗️Kiev’s allegations against Russia following the missile incident in Poland were a “bad example” given that it was apparently a Ukrainian weapon that killed two people, Gergely Gulyas, the head of the Hungarian prime minister's office, has said.

💬"The Ukrainian president was wrong... He immediately accused Russia of what, based on the current information, was done by Ukraine. This is a bad example," Gulyas commented.

🚨The International Paralympic Committee has suspended the membership of the Russian Paralympic Committee

🇷🇺Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Chernyshenko has lambasted Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), after he “condemned” the politicization of sports at the G20 summit, claiming that the fundamental goal of the Olympic and Paralympic Games was "bringing the whole world together in peaceful competition, without any discrimination whatsoever.”

“The statement from the head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach during the G20 meeting claiming that international sport should not become a tool for achieving political goals is far from sincere,” Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko stated.

The minister reminded that in less than a year, thanks to Bach and other functionaries, Russian athletes were suspended from all possible international competitions, while Paralympic athletes were barred from attending the Games in Beijing, when most of them had already arrived in China for training.

▪️ The World Trade Organization forecasts that in 2023, global trade will rise by just 1%. For comparison, this year trade growth is expected to be 3.5%. However, the WTO chief mentioned talks between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden as a positive development.

🗣 “It's always good when the two biggest economies in the world talk to each other,” said the WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
